Hi I own a 2006 Jeep Diesel, 117,000K. I have poor mileage . (15 mpg city). The scanner says at idle its at 85% boost. What tells the computer that its at 85% boost? Or what other problems could cause this? Has anyone else had this problem and if so ... what`s the fix? |

85% boost doesn't mean anything. Needs to read in PSI or mBar. What kind of scan tool are you using? Start reading here http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=54207 Then post a new thread in the Love That Torque section. I suspect you need to either clean or replace your MAP sensor. |

Most likely a bad MAP sensor, replace it with the GM PN 55206797 Can be purchased online at several different locations for ~ $20 ID Parts list them:> https://www.idparts.com/map-sensor-libe ... -2859.html ![]() |

At idle, boost would be expected to be approximately 0 psig which would be 1 bar, which would be (14.7 psia ambient @ sea level) (Pounds per square inch ACTUAL) vs psig (gauge) If the computer is expecting a MAP reading 14.7 psia, and is seeing 12.5 psia, it would show 85% boost. On a normal day @ 1350 feet altitude, ambient pressure is 0.85 bar. which is 12.5 psia Unless you saw a change happen and you know for sure it is abnormal, I suspect it's within "normal" tolerance, especially if you're not getting an underboost code. |

It may be reading the duty cycle for the VNT control solenoid. 85% is dead on for idle based on the VNT maps in the stock tune. Does the value drop as you accelerate? If this is the case, what scanner are you using because I want one. |
