if you need driveline parts at the junkyard, bring a battery booster and 2 wires with alligator clips. or a cordless drill battery or whatever. get to the back of the instrument cluster and cut the harness a few inches from the connector. use these 2 wires below to light up the odometer. It only flashes the mileage before going into an error mode about not having a bus connection. you may also have to push the trip reset button to get the odometer reading as opposed to the trip reading. took me a few tries to get the whole mileage reading cause i kept forgetting what i saw flash by. Since i'm a regular, I got a connector and made a boost battery hookup so i can scan it easier (alligator clips are a pain). I've tried this on 2005 model and it worked great.
