Urg.. further to my no Start issue i have now checked all the fuses relays and earth straps. i have also charged the battery. now i did run a Scan on it and found the following:
U113E - Relating to a faulty Intelligent Battery Sensor, I cleared it and came up again... so i actually inspected the IBS and it has a crack in it...
U0298 and U0299 both relating to Lost comms on the Dc Dc convertor module... perhaps also to do with IBS
B210D and B210A low battery voltage detected - perhaps also relating to IBS?
B1630 B162C, B1638 ,B1634 all relating to headlight

To Date I have tried the following:
Replaced diesel fuel Filter
Replaced Oil and - just cause
Checked Fuel rail for fuel by loosening a line
Checked all relays, fuses and earth straps
no red dot on the ignition?
no other codes

when cranking i get a little bit of smoke from the exhaust
when cranking the rpm needle hardly lifts

Starter sounds good
Battery is good
No other codes

Where to next ? please help

You may want to replace the crankshaft sensor, a common problem on these engines. They go bad and don't ever set any DTCs.
Clear the codes and see what comes back.

Could you have a bad earth up near the headlight under the battery? IIRC the IBS is just a temperature sensor so you dont overcharge the battery when its hot.
