Okay, I got this installed on Sunday. It took me forever! Only because of the tight space in th garage and I was alone. Taking breaks and looking for things also contributed.

This is a prototype and not the production model

I gave up on the matching paint so I got it black powder coated (two layers primer grey and black epoxy texture).

THIS IS A PROTOTYPE

I just want to make sure people understand this in case they want to mention any "points of interest" in fit.

It went on very easy once I got it into place using my 3 ton jack.

Sorry the one picture is dark. Weather wasn't cooperating.

I don't think that black looks as good on a Light Khaki Renegade model. Matching color would've been awesome.

Nice job. Maybe if you paint you flares black it would blend in more?

THAT LOOKS TERRIBLE, Take it off right away and send it to me, I will get rid of it for you.

No really looks great, even in black (which really would look good on mine!) Good job, bet it was a bear to do yourself! Looks even better with the OU license plate frame on the rear. My wife will be going back there this fall to teach again.

Get some black Cragers and give your wheels to me (I'll be nice and pay for shipping! :P ). You have enough black that it does look good.

I think it looks great on there, maybe a black front bumper will help the profile look, but overall it is pretty dern cool!

Wow, that looks awesome!

I would really like to see one with the blocks that cover the holes that the spare tire mounts and gas tank mounts. That could make or break the look. :?

Well Tokyojoe,I think this is the one time, and I think maybe the only time, that i'm going to have to disagree with you.As great a job as RockLizard did on the looks of this master piece, don't you dare change the color of this bumper. You don't want it to blend in.I mean, with all of the other black appoinments, roofrack, body side mouldings, door handles, rock rails, ect. This color is perfect.Don't get me wrong,I think Seth's SFA liberty looks good, but I don't think a colormatching bumper does his rig enough justice. This bumper is far better than the stock bumper, and does'nt need to look like it.
Nuff said.

Joe, how is your bumper different than the production model? I looks the same to me. Anyway I can't wait for Marty to finish my bumper.

His was the last prototype before production, so there really isn't any difference. There were a few minor things, but nothing I didn't change with the angle grinder. Your bumper I'm picking up from sandblast sometime tomorrow.

Yeah it doesn't match at all, you should really give it to someone who has a black libby. (hint, hint  )

Joe...don't get me wrong, your Jeep looks awesome now. I think the black epoxy matches your side stripes well and gives it a rugged look. Now with a nice black bumper in the front, it would bring the whole package together blending in with the textured lights and roof on top. Nice Job! I always wanted a khaki Renegade... can't wait to see it next weekend.8)

Dave

The black flares thought would be interesting too. It would be nice to get some cheap.

Yes, I think getting the front changed to black would balance it out. It is just too black in the rear.

The black powdercoat was texture matched with e plastic door trim, doo handles, side mirror housing, roof rails, and roof basket. Texture didn't come out as the same piece they had in the shop. It was supposed to be exactly like the parts I mentioned. Instead, the texture bumps are a bit bigger.

HOT. Very nice, Rock Lizard!

Only recommendation I have is to incorporate a diamond-plate or similar nonskid material on the top surface of the bumper for when you need to stand on it. Looks smooth and slippery without. I stand on my KJ bumper a lot when loading my roof rack.

Looks great Joe...you can add me to the envy list. I just love the RL bumpers, Marty you do a wonderful job on them. They just make the KJ look so rugged. Awesome.

Black looks great too...add a RL front bumper in black and you're set.

Grip tape is a lot cheaper and easier to install.

Your bumper looks great and +1 on the skid tape, less expensive than diamond plate for sure. Skateboard tape has many uses.
