Gas or Diesel? There is a TSB out for the CRD about a shudder at that speed.

Get it into the dealer quick!.. I just had mine in at 3K and had them check for a noise. They had to rebuild the rear axle ring and pinions and all of the bearings.

Never been in water or wheeled more than lightly. :x

hmmm, mine does that at 50 too, sounds like it's coming from the driveline. don't get up to 75 much, highest speed on the highway in hawaii is bloody 60mph and that's like in two spots. mine has 1300mi on it, guess I'm going to the dealer tomorrow

Justin

btw haven't been wheeling with it yet

got my jeep an appointment for next thursday. I've had it since july 12 so I am kinda pissed if it'll turn out to be a problem. really like it though.

the way my problem is, when accelerating at about the 45-50mi/hr range there is a viberation in the rear, probably the rear diff, possibly the wheels aren't balance but if others are having this same issue I doubt that. the local dealer ain't the greatest, they have 4 chrysler lots, one of the other lots sold a used liberty to a co worker, they didn't even own it, totally illegal. now she's driving a volvo they nocked $6k off of. hopefully the service department is cool though. If it's going to be out for a couple days I'm going to see if they can get me a rental.

they are a 5 star dealer so I'm supposed to recieve a survey from them. the salesman told me if I check every thing good I'll get either a free oil change or detailing, my choice. he said "this isn't bribary, it's an incentive" lol. took me 7hrs to buy the jeep originially. it was all the way behind every car on the last lot, all they needed to do was move a neon to get it out of the way, but a ram was blocking that. after they looked through every key to find the ram's they found it, hanging from the sun shade inside the ram. geniuses lol

wish me luck

Justin

I put on the new vehicle survey that I wouldn't go back to that dealer if you paid me.

Where in MI are you? There are a few good dealers on the east side of Detroit and in Auburn Hills who did work on my 99 Grand Cherokee.

Oh I'm gonna make them spend all their money on it :D Too bad I can't get them to put on some better tires, a lift and lockers while their at it. On their dime of course

My coworker is going thourgh the AF legal office to file a suite against them, and she went to the better business bureau. If non of that works, she still plans to inform every military base on oahu to tell their service members not to deal with the dealership. There are lists of places that can't do business on base and service members are highly discouraged from doing business with them. I'm not air force though, chose smart and went with the navy  .

My CRD Liberty had the check engine light come on at 3300 miles. Dealer had me drop her off for the weekend for a visit. They told me she needs a new ERG (on order). No charge for installing sport racks and Bug deflector. They even appologized for not having a Liberty loaner.

Wow wish your dealer was here ;-) Wish my renny could even have a diesel option, that's what they really need. Oh well wishes only get ya so far. I did take it to another lot today and they seem much nicer, got an appointment for Thursday morning

wow, did it get louder as you loaded up with people? perticularly when those people were sitting in the back? I had a buddy sit in the back yesterday and it sounded louder. When he moved forward it sounded a bit quieter. I don't get the vibration at 75 but I haven't really tested that too much either. hard to go that fast here. Heck, alot of times getting up to 50 is hard ;-)

For me it's hard to hear on some rough roads around here (there are plenty), because of the road noise, but when I'm on a nice smooth surface it's noticable. Sometimes quiet or sometimes louder it seems. Also I have to actually be pushing the accelerator to get the vibration, if I'm just coasting or what not I don't get a vibration. Can't wait to find out if I've got a problem or if I'm just hearing things, maybe I should schedule that audiogram the navy keeps bugging me about :? I just can't wait to take it wheeling :-) The paint is pristine, needs some pinstripes!!! Especially before the grocery getters nail my KJ with their doors, I want to be the first to do something to the paint ;-)

I'm having the same problem, The service manger was talking to me like I was an idiot, "Are you sure it not just a Jeep thing, they don't ride like cars"

The service tech that I took for a test ride told me it was the drive shaft, (not the first time he's seen it on a KJ) they ordered me one last night.

Mine only has 3K

I had mine 3 days and noticed the vibration. Dealer had it 2 weeks rebuilt the rear end and replaced the rear driveshaft. It is a little better I also feel it in the steering wheel. The Service Mgr said that the Manufacter is aware of the issue within a range of build dates but does not no how to correct it. They ask the dealer to update them. They ask me to drive it stating "you need to let the suspension break in" I am not buying that. Any updates would be great news.

After they replaced the drive shaft it fixed my problem, took the Dealership 3 days to get the part in from when they diagnosed it, and about 2 hours to actually get the job done.
