"Replaced at no cost" ... I guess it's too much to ask for redesigned LCA eh? I wonder what they'll replace with, moog?

This is a very significant good news to all of us - hopefully this gets done in a timely manner by DC
let's see who gets the first notice - when I get mine, I'll take the jeep in first thing.

Really.... thanks to everyone - we know we helped to get this done.

I'm placing this as sticky until we get things done

Looks like I will be kissing some major butt at the first oil change. I have recently moved to Texas and have yet to establish a relationship with the dealer. If I play my cards right, they will spring for a rental

This is AWESOME!!!!! Great job to all who have had problems and put in their complaint. I have not had any problems with mine yet (I checked them on my last tire swap - swap from stock SRA's to my MTR's when I do a trail) and I am just over 25K miles.

I do worry if they will fail when I am driving in the mountains, on trails, and at highway speeds. This recall will help relax some of that fear.

I hope nobody gets hurt between now and September, from a failed LBJ.

Free lower ball joints for life! YAY!

So what does this mean for those of us who already replaced ours with the MOOGs?

It means you probably still have better joints than what the recall will provide. I know, some cash would be nice.

That is what I am asking my self. I am at 83K and I do have some movement. Mostly on the passenger side.

All I see in that article is a replacement with the same part design. They used the excuse that some were damaged in shipping and/or installed wrong. Then, they say the vehicle has since been redesigned, not the part. :?

That's good that they recognized it, but I really think that all they are doing is replacing them (if necessary) and claiming that the redesigned vehicle will prevent them from failing in the future. I bet you a dollar that they are referring to the heat shields as the "redesigned" fix. We all know that shield is BS!

So, either check them regularly and keep getting them replaced by Jeep, or go to Moogs and lube them often.

By the way, GREAT JOB TO US ALL! I wonder how many of the 111 complaints were ours? hehehe

Didn't know you could retroactively redesign a vehicle. Darn, those Jeep engineers are good!

As with me, 67K, and I have some play on the Left front. I plan to hold for the replacement though (replacement for life). Now I can take that $125 (for the Moogs) and put into new struts and/or Al's Upper Arms.

For those of you with play, I suggest you take it to the dealership and get them replaced now. Do not wait! They will or at least should, do the work under the recall now if you have a dangerous condition. Print that article and take it with you.

If they refuse, ask for it in writing that you have play in the LBJ's and that they won't repair it under the pending recall or the prior recall. Tell them you want to be sure you've got everyone listed that you intend to sue if it gives out before Sep!
