Finally took pics of the new bug shield, roof rails, and diesel decals. Then, I headed over to the Toyota dealership to have a little fun and get some comparion pics of the FJ vs. KJ. Check it out...

On a crappy note, trade in value on an '05 CRD with only 14k miles that stickered at $27,745 with nearly every option imaginable was only $14,000 I said, DUDE, 3yr old gas KJs are selling for that...

I know its horrible. I have a 2004 KJ with 34000 miles and the dealer over here in Germany said that I could only get 12,000. I still owe around 14,000!!!

The KJ makes the FJ look ugly. The front bumpers on those are disgusting. If I got one, it would be replace with an ARB in the first week or else!

I just wanted to see mine next to one. The thought had entered my mind that "if the FJ had been available, would I have gotten it instead of the CRD" but the answer is no. The FJ looks big driving down the road, but when parked next to a KJ, they are about the same size. The FJ was just something new to go look at. It really doesn't drive any different than anything else - just another gasoline powered wagon type thing... but real hard to see out of with all the small windows.

The FJ looks like a cheaper version of an H3.

I just cant get myself to like the FJ at all.

Being a mobile electronics technician, i would never get one just for the fact that its a witch to work on. Had to put a Sirius radio in one the other day, pain in the balls.

the FJ is ugly it's a shame cuz the under body is quite stout, frame, axles and powertrain.

I actually like that ugly stupid FJ. I like different things though. Half the reason why I bought a KJ. It seems to be quite capable with all the stock equipment on it. If you go to the rough country website they have a cool little video of that thing wheeling after they had their lift put on it. Pretty cool.

Your CRD will last twice as long as the FJ. Hang on to it and compare the resale of the two vehicles when each has 150K miles.

3" Rough Country and 33/12.50/17's in it's first year.

After almost 5 yrs., we're still trying to find cost effective ways to mount a 33" tire under our Libby's.

Yes, ARB already has a bumper for it and ARB lockers,
not to mention, OME has a full spring lift kit available too,
along with a host of other lift companies.

I like the old school FJ40 from the 1960’s-1970’s

The Toyota dealer here won't deal at all on an FJ.

The Jeep dealer will.

If you look at the spec sheet on both vehicles, the Liberty wins.

It has more room and more range than the Toyota.

On the down side, the Toyota has more ground clearance (.2" more) and built more like a truck than the Liberty.

I have no regrets on getting a Jeep.
