APOLOGIES IF THIS IS A DOUBLE POST - I THINK THE FIRST ONE DIDN'T TAKE, SO I RE-TYPED...

Dear All,

Having just got back to Squaw Valley after Wave 4 of the launch (and not having had a chance to say goodbye since you all dashed of to spot on Cadillac Hill) I wanted to put out a thank you to all of you. It involved, of course, joining this crazy website and seeing the madness multiplied throughout the worldwide web (does it count if my KJ is leased??).

The past two weeks in the Sierras have been a great experience. The LOST team was good-natured, good fun and a bunch of ass-kickers when it came to cleaning the JKs for the media. Rubicon Springs has never before seen so many shiny-looking Jeeps all at once!

The media were given a great chance to dip their toes into the "only one more mod" Jeep world, and it was an eye-opener for them... The first impression was spectacular; dropping into the valley to be greeted by all of the JKs looking (almost) brand new despite the adverse conditions; and that is all thanks to you.

So, in no particular order, thank you to: Clint, Mario & Will (for keeping me supplied with water and the occasional beer), Shawna (sp?) (don't be scared by the evil backpacks!), Brian (she must be a keeper if you gave up blowing things up for her), Ron (3rd-string supervisor!), Mike & Tammy (good luck finding somewhere that is colder than Arizona but warmer than Minnesota - didn't narrow it down too much, did you??), Big Mike, Ian, Slightly Smaller Mike, JJ, Jim (still the largest bumper ding), Nolan, Vern, Ted, Al & Blaine & Bud (JK bumper repairs a speciality), Cal, Quinn, Heather and everyone else who I accidentally forgot (there were swarms of you).

As a side note, I have just read the first JK article by Joe DiMatio from Automobile who was with us in Zambia on the long-lead launch. The article is very favorable and I am sure the first of many that we will see. I think that we can all be proud to have been involved with the launch.

So, thank you again for your enthusiasm. Good times!

James

I was wondering where the boys had been for a LONG time ...

So, what's in store? What are we in for?

Very cool guys.

Sounds like a crowd though. Glad we didn't come up to run the Rubi during that time.

Actually, There was little crowding on the trail at all. We saw very few vehicles during the two weeks.

Wow, that would have been a lot more fun than sitting around at work waiting to see if we were doing anything the past two weeks :P

I heard that date on another board. If they didn't say anything to you....it's on!

The 'date' being when the dealers will have units?

Not sure, I know that Quinn and HEather pre-ordered one and expected it to be at their dealer when they got back from the trip. Maybe they will post up if they got theirs yet. They did say they were hoping it would live up to their expectations during this trip and last I heard, they loved it.
