I can't seem to be able to find a receiver nitch for the front. Boulderbars has one tor a 2004 model that will fit 2005 & 6 with modifications. Does anyone know of anything else out there? I am not interested in the ARB or Rock Lizard bumpers.

Thanks.

I didn't have to modify a thing to put the front hitch on my CRD. It actually goes in easier without hte split lower grill under the bumper which required you to put the hitch bar in as two pieces than bolt tocether. The big opem slot of the newer rigs let you put it in as one piece. Installs real easily.

The "minor mods" are only minor bumper trimming i thought for it to fit the 05-06

I have the drawtight mounted on my 2005. bolts on in place of the the tow hooks, and requires one more hole to be drilled in the frame rails. I had to cut a notch in the bottom of the bumper cover to expose the receiver, and relocate the license plate holder.

Thanks for the info.

After you have installed the mounts, what winch do you have installed?

I have an old Warn 8230 or something like that that would probably weigh too much for the Liberty.

Not to mention it would probably stick up over the hood. It is a tall winch.

The hitch is rated for 9000 lbs direct pull. so size your winch accordingly

The KJ is a heavy beast, and should use at least an 8000 but preferably a 9000 lb winch.

I just installed a two piece front receiver hitch. Didn't have to trim anything. A front license is not required in Arizona so that is not an issue. Very clean install but I had to remove the factory hooks. I would have liked to keep them.

I used Hidden Hitch. As I was installing it I realized you don't need to install a two piece hitch. There is enough flex in the bumper to put a single piece hitch into the space from underneath. This one is rated at 6000# but I will use my 9000# winch anyway. If I bend it so what, I will still get unstuck.
