Does anyone know if the early 02 sport without a roof rack is predrilled from the factory to accept the rack that is on virtually every KJ. I don't want to pull up the trim that covers the valley to look if I don't have to.

Thanks

Once and a while you can get lucky in the parts wanted/for sale section and get some of the rails instead of paying full price. I know I sold mine there. 8)

I would get some home made rack that mounts to those holes...I broke my factory rails somehow last weekend... No tree hit, no nothing, we do not know unless bouncing and weight of the spare did it over time.

Thanks guys, I picked up a set for $40, now I just need the fittings that go in the predrilled holes. I am doing it mostly for looks, I am into offroad "light" at the present time.

Ted, I think you twisted your rig so much that the body flexed, and the rack you have is rigid, and the factory plastic mounts are the weak point. I got some "idears" for a new roof rack for you.

You need the nuztert/ washer, only place I found them was from the dealer. Paid like $3.25 or so a piece. Make sure to get the one with a hex head. Cool to see another no factory rail owner, thought I was the only one. later, mike
