Its looking like I'm cleared to go (just have to find someone for canine maintenance). At this point, I'm still planning on driving down in the morning, and back that night. I'm a little past due for my first oil change. Would that be an appropriate item for this gathering or should I do it beforehand?

It is fine for the GTG, but the work list is pretty full. You may end up out on the chat drive doing it, but you never know. One of the big TB jobs has been canx for the GTG so Sat may have a lot more time to do stuff like this, at at least one and maybe two of the four TB jobs will be done here Friday evening. That will really free up Saturday.

Do you need oil filter? The OEM are only 10.50 if you want I will pick it up and you can pay me or you can call Jeff at dealer and prepay with CC (see posting on previous page) and I will pick it up for you and have ithee at the garage when you get here. How about airfilter? I am headed to dealer this afternoon for aoil & air filter for our CRD, I won't be doing the change till after the GTG is over probably.

If you don't have the FUMOTO drain valve you may want to get that from Greg while you are here.

Cool, I'll just get the oil change done beforehand. I think I'll pass on the Fumoto valve, as I plan to install some aftermarket skid plates for trail protection and the Fumoto has historically not worked well with those. I'll check the condition of my air filter ASAP, though.

Grrr... Looks like I have to bail out after all. I "get to" spend tomorrow at the office. Stupid IT jobs and their "off-hours" work... :x

It looks like it'll be great weather. Have fun, and I'll have to catch you another time, as close as you are.

I'm down south around Springfield and couldn't make it because of an IT consulting gig tomorrow... sounds like there are a lot of us propeller heads on here!

Hey marauderer made it in yesterday afternoon along with 3 old friends from the TDI forum and we sit around and BSed while one of the TDI Guru's did a timing belt job on a fellow VWTDI club members 97 Passat. Car sure is good looking for 215,000 miles, and is one solid car. Now if I can just talk him out of his '84 MB 300D before to much longer, it has lot less miles on it (1/2) then his Passat.

Arrived at OldNavy's GTG yesterday afternoon and there was only two (2) CRDs in attendance, OldNavy's and mine. I learned a lot about the VW TDI and after talking at length with OldNavy and others I am on a mission to find out if there is a larger production injector for our CRDs. I will be checking things out and will install my provent and not worry about the EGR problem.

Great job OldNavy I really appreciate your hospitality.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoyed the visit with you. I hope you can make it back next fall.

I will be going to Marty's (JETaah) GTG in MI in the spring, he even has a lift. Jeff will be there also, maybe we see you again there in May. 8)

OldNavy, are you going to keep us posted on Jeff's tune for the CRD.

I will definately want one if he develops it. Especially if I can find a larger set of Injectors.

And who knows, there might be a TDI in the garage and I will be going to the Spring GTG to see Jeff or if the CRD tune is available.

Again thanks for the hospitality at your GTG. Maybe some of the CRD guys will make the next one.

Hey he said he was going to try to find someone local for tester for the CRD and would get back with me. I have decided it might be worth it even if I seldom drive the Jeep. :)

Hey the main spring GTG is Memorial Day weekend at Marty's in MI, couple other CRD's showed up for that one. I will be going to it if nothing comes up, not sick or I haven't French kissed a Mac truck. I will be taking the Magnum most likely, as it is so much more comfortable to drive long trips. 8) It does mean that I would have to make a fuel stop one time, but heck I'll have to stop several times for draining water out of the tires.

Where is Marty's in Michigan? I want to check the distance to see my potential route.

Here is a Google Map and here is a link to Marty's Shop page.

Marty has a rack and one LOST member used it last year to install pyro sender, by dropping exhuast system while on the rack.
