I just got the extended warranty on ours that extends the 7/70 powertrain to a bumper to bumper zero deductible. Best price I could find was
www.chryslerwarrantys.com. Put in your email address when it asks to add you to the mailing list and you get an automatic rebate.
I probably wouldn't mess around with a 3rd party warranty, but I'm pretty conservative.
I tried to get them to tell me what plans covered the EGR and they couldn't tell !!
Only the maximum care plans do, the one that claims to cover 5007+ parts. I found the actual list on another dealer website and remember clearly the EGR as well as the EGR flow valve and EGR solenoid were listed.
Other thing to note, it you get a quote and put in your email address, they will send you a code for almost $200 off but it expires in a short amount of time. But each time you get a quote, the next coupon decreases by $5. My first coupon was for $195, then $190, now $185.
If I go this route I will get a quote with a new email address and see what happens... I'm considering the 7yr/85kmile max care 0/deduct for about $1950 before coupon. I can have a private shop fix a bunch for about $1700.... I think for '05 owners like me, the decision is tough as we already have the 7/70 powertrain with $100 deduct and the 7/70 diesel engine with $0 deduct - this is why I still have not made a decision on a warranty
But it still just rubs me the wrong way that I can get 7/100/0 for $850 on my full time 4wd Sienna and the same on this Jeep is $2650...
