Got 40,000 KMS on my Jeep. Manual says change the FUEL WATER SEPERATOR. Only thing is i priced at the dealer $255 + tax (canadian funds).

Anyone know where i can get one cheaper?

Or maybe an alternative i could use..like and aftermarket one or something...

I ve had NO PROBLEMS engine wise with my Jeep, so should i even change it yet ?

They are trying to sell the entire unit (filter & head). Run just the filter number, will be @ $45 USD but can get them much cheaper on-line. It also shows up in the NAPA system but they have not be able to get me one yet.

Just a cold weather diesel thing, I would change it soon before the weather consistantly freezes.

I bought thefilter only unit at local dealer for $ 38 US. They were cheaper on line, but when adding shipping the price was almost the same.

Thanks for the thread on the Fuel filter change :P . Filled the filter with ATF (center hole and filter ports)to get a good cleaning of the injectors the job took less than a 1/2 hr . Took about eight pushes on the primer button no need to bleed since the filter was topped off. Thanks again :D
