Sorry no pics. Wish I had my camera phone on me. Maybe it's no big deal and I am the only person whose LOST. I was walking into Wally World and this KJ had a what looked like a regular hitch (back of KJ) receiver but in addition it had to other receivers on either side of the 'middle receiver'. So instead of one it looked like three.

They have those so that you can pull different trailers with different size balls, ie 1 7/8, 2, 2/14 You have all 3 sizes on that one hitch ready to go.

Sounds to me like those things that have 3 different size balls on a single hitch. So, if you want to use a different size you would pull it out, rotate it, and then shove it back in. Is that what you saw?

EDIT: I guess TomMud and I were typing at the same time.

No. I've seen those. The reciever was where it's supposed to be. Then the other two were located on the sides just to the inside of each tire.

Hmm, wow, you talking about the hole the reciever goes in? Never seen a hitch with 3 of them?

I can't believe those are to haul a trailer. If they are that close to the wheels and you used either one, the trailer center would be to one side of the lane or the other and nevermind what it would do to trying to drive straight. They must be for some other kind of attachment, maybe some type of farm equipment or something. :?

Just mentioned it to my dad. He says it's possibly for a light motorcycle mount longways across the back so the weight is distributed on 2 mounts and still allows the trailer hitch to be used.

I know! Wheelie bars!!!

i have seen a hitch like that also, it only had the ball mount in the center and nothing on either side, I have also worked on a farm for years and never have seen any type of equipment use a hitch like that. My only guess would be for some sort of weight distribution also

The only place that I have seen that is on the farm where I was making hay bales, or backing a trailer into a spot with a wall or something on one side when my tractor is widerr than the trailer.

They might be used for just moving trailers.Backing them up into diff positions not actually using them on the road...

there is one ther possible reason for the extra hitch points; single wheel trailer. one wheel and two hitches the nice thing is the trailer will never jack knife... even my ex could back it up and that says alot
