 Post subject: blower motor resistor

my fan only works on 4. everyone told me [and the other people who all have the same problem] that the blower motor resistor is shot. i cannot find one anywhere, besides ebay. no auto parts store has a clue, or any part number in their database. can anyone help? [the parts stores on the internet also had no dice] thanks -pat

Everyone's going to the dealer I think...less than $20 for the part. You'll find the instructions on a thread here somewhere...

I got mine from the dealer for 25 dollars,very easy to install behind the glove compartment,You have to unlock it to remove the wiring connector-somewhere on this site theres a step by step instruction on the process..

thanks for the quick responses. yea, i took my glove box apart and have the resistor hanging loose... i took the red lock thing out, but can't take the resistor off... let me find the thread.. if one of you knows exactly where it is, please post the link. THANKS! -pat

that [long] link is to an ebay auction. he has 13 left. selling them for 13.99. advanced auto and autozone had no clue what i was talking about, and they searched for the part #, too.. i will go to the dealer, if they don't have one, can't get one within 5 days, i'll just buy it off ebay.

I don't have a picture of the resistor itself - but I think I remember there was a screw securing the resistor block to the HVAC case.

it's only 8.93 to ship it to me [although tha's still not cheap] so it would be 23 bucks. my local dealer just spoke with me on the phone and they have one for $24.25. i am just going to pay the 25 bucks. *&^^&* it.
