Rusty's vs OME coils + rancho

Hi guys,

I'm considering getting a lift for my '05 liberty. Checking the manufacturers' websites and the posts in here I found that rusty's lift is the way to go for my budget. I'm also tempted with the following setup:

4 OME coils $264 (medium duty)
4 Rancho's $280 (2 struts, 2 shocks)
$544 TOTAL

That's $84 bucks more than Rusty's. How will this setup compare to the Rusty's lift?

From reading in this forum I learned that the Rusty's rear shocks could be somewhat problematic and they might need replacement so that will probably add $120 (2 rear ranchos) in the long run.

I think if you contact Rusty, you can piece the lift together. Such as get the lift without the shocks, switch rear springs, etc... I have not ordered from him but everyone that has, has been pleased, and they like the Rustys for the money. As soon as I do my next mod which is to move the shock placement up higher with aftermarket shock mounts part number from Warrior WAR101 it will give you the option of keeping the stock shocks. I had considered Rustys until my Wife gave me the OK to spend the extra $$ on the Skyjacker :lol:

I'm sure you can order rusty's with rancho's for the rear

You can get HD OME springs front and rear with Rancho struts and shocks at All J for $550. For $100 more you can get the front struts completely assembled and ready to bolt on. That's what I got and I'm very pleased with it. KJTX and I did the install ourselves, and it was easy. No spring compressors to mess with or down time. The Ranchos fit perfect, and they come with the rubber boots. I got 2.5 inches all around!

What would it be the difference, as far as the lift is concerned, between ussing medium duty or heavy duty OME springs?

I'm not planning on adding an ARB bumper, I'll go with the front receiver option later on, so I don't think I need the heavy duty springs.

If you ever decide to get a winch for the front hitch, you might want the HD springs. And when you start adding skid plates, roof rack, or if you decide to tow, you might want the HD springs. They don't ride rough at all.
