If you get any flack, just tell them your "mall rated" Libby can do just as well as they can! I went on a trail run this past weekend with a few people, and I was one of 2 Libbie's out there. Did I mention that My Libbie is still STOCK?

Image

Not even a year old yet and I took it over a trail I should have never taken it over (it was a wrong turn). But my truck got over (almost) evereything the other guys went, including a stock TJ Rubicon! Let them snicker. It will be well worth it when U get over that opsticle they thought you'd never get over, and U ask them, whats next?!

While I think more and more about it. This site could also serve as a handicap. If we run and hide from the idiots, we do not:

1. Educate those idiots
2. Get forgotten and nobody knows that KJ's do go off-road and do very well.

Perhaps each of us should add another Jeep or off-road forum to our favorites and visit it daily and give input. Show your pics of doing great trails. Educate the uneducated.

Why have I said this? I got a reply from nth Degree after I yelled at them on that lift vote (JK then XJ being the two choices and the KJ not even thought about). See a post in that Nth Degree post on here.

-------------------

If you do go out to prove yourself to those idiots, out on the trail, do not try something you do not know. You need to know your KJ inside and out. If you let your pride get the best of you, you might prove those fools right by getting stuck, breaking something, or getting hurt.

Thanks! I have posted on other sites, pictures and all, some flamed the KJ some were down right impressed. All depends. I do it in a freindly sense, especially with H2 or H3 owners.

The most important thing to know, is to know your limitations, and the limitation of the "thing" your handling over trail. As I got older I learned that HP and pedal to metal is not the way to go, yes in some minor cases this is a good thing, but in most, idle and path will get you thru.

If you know that, you will not get introuble, and you will not imbaress yourself, or your equipment.

Al

I've been to a couple of RR4W events (Labor Day Campout and Easter Jeep Safari) in Moab and I've always been surprised at how many people are really receptive and complimentary of what my KJ can do.

True Jeepers like to see what other people are doing with their rigs, no matter what it is. The morons that diss KJs are the same ones that tear up the landscape and leave beer cans on the trail. No need to give them the time of day.

Those are some silly pictures DWD's, you have got yourself one bad stupid kj right there. Some of the more extreme pics I have seen of a kj in action. Good shots.

I wholeheartedly agree with this statement. We even saw this in a couple of places in Moab last year. Sad.

That's one of the reasons why LOST is great for what it does and the kind of people it brings together.

This one looked steep even from the picture, which tells me it is really REALLY steep in real life :)

Good run!

This one brings back memories :)

Greetings fellow, Las Vegan! Looks like you learned the lesson of rock rails! I'm not doing anything close to that Logandale run until I get a set. I've run some pretty nasty trails out by Jean...no boulders though!

MOST OF THE GUYS I'VE WHEELED WITH LOVED WATCHING ME TAKE MY GRAND WAGONEER OUT, AND USUALLY GET STUCK, AND STRUGGLE WITH WHAT APPEARED TO BE SIMPLE SPOTS, BUT COMPLICATED WITH BLACK GREASY INDIANA MUD! THEY REALLY LOVED HEARING THAT BIG V-8 REV THRU OPEN EXHAUST WHILE I HAD TO RED-LINE THE OL' GIRL TO GET UP A SLICK HILL!
NOW, THEY ARE USED TO NOT WAITING ON ME SINCE I STARTED USING THE RENEGADE!
MY NOISE [LACK OF!] ISN'T SO ENTERTAINING ANYMORE. THEY HAVE ALSO COMMENTED THAT I DON'T CREATE THOSE GOD-AWFUL RUTS THE WAY I USED TO...
OF COURSE, I AM A LITTLE NICER TO THE LIB, IT COST ME 5 TIMES WHAT MY WAGONEER DID!!!

LOT'S TO BE SAID FOR THE DIFFERENT WHEEL BASE, AND A WHOLE DIFFERENT KIND OF TRACTION.

While the KJ might not be capable a handful of trails other vehicles may run, in my eyes, having a vehicle that is very competent off road and maintains the phenomial everyday utility of the KJ is what makes it such a great vehicle. I mean, you could have a KJ set up for off road, but you can still drive it to and from work (without sustaining internal injury), and you can still throw a great tailgate out of it. I have yet to see a TJ haul 4 people to a game and break out a massive pre-game feast--grill and all!

I went through the mud pit at Hollister in California, and got the same "well if a LIBERTY can do that, then .... (piddly excuse)" But I got some respect after I went up the stair steps (Twice) while being stock. There was some scrapping, but it did it fine. An H3 tried, but failed, and that made my little'lo KJ seem real big! I loved it.

 Yeah-that'll teach 'em. Wheel your junk and you will earn respect. Dont "tell" everyone how trail worthy your little grocery getter is. Talk is cheap, just like us.

You really should pay any attention or care what some jackhole thinks about the capabilities of your rig. Most of that is born out of:

a. Ignorance

b. Arrogance

c. Mob mentallity (some of those @$#%s couldn't form their own opinion even if they ate a case of ex-lax a shot it out there booty)

d. Lack of intelligence contributing to all of the above.

I now have a Wrangler, and ironically enough would rather run with a bunch of KJ's.

I feel pretty much the same way with my LJ. I'd rather run with a bunch of KJ's on a stock trail, (even though it's really not a challenge anymore) than run with a bunch of morons who think the only way to wheel is with a Wrangler (or CJ).
