So im gonna wax my KJ for the first time later today. I like to use a power waxer thing that buffs it on really nice and fast, but it kinda flings wax everywhere. Whats the best way to get wax off the textured fender flares (other than just not getting it on there in the first place...not gonna happen haha), as I recall it's kind of a pain in the butt, you get splotches on there that are hard to get out.

IIRC, mineral spirits will cut the wax. The best thing you can do is mask the plastic before you start. Don't know if it works but was told once that using silicone tire shine or Armorall on the plastic before you start keeps the wax from sticking.

You do want to prevent this as I used Nufinish on my brand new Impala 3 years ago. Got some on the plastic trim in a few spots and it's still there today.

When I wax, I keep a moist shop towel (the white ones you buy in bulk from the auto parts place) in my back pocket and every time I get a little bit of wax on the plastic I just go at it with the towel. I've had sucess getting if off a day or two after I've waxed as well... it just takes a little elbow grease.

Why not just wax your liberty by hand? That way your machince isn't flinging wax on places its not supposed to go....

I use blue painters tape and tape off ALL the plastic on the Jeep. Im a hardcore detailer though. I usually make it into a two day ordeal.

Simple way to get it off is to use a White Eraser.. sound weird but trust me it should work.. I use to use it to get off wax from sunroof rubber trim when I used to detail BMW's at my old job..
