Hey guys, Im coming up from Florida and will be in the Sugar Mountain area, and other surrounding areas. Im looking for snow and some trails to ride this weekend. Any of you guys wana so a flat land boy how to ride in the Mountains? Also good food and a cool town to stay in. I decided to come back to NC and see the northern parts. Sure would appreciate some help or a trail ride. Thanks

Even if you guys cant go riding how about giving me some hints where to go? Im sure someone has an idea or two about where to ride. I have good tech skills and can manage my way thru most, Im not sure yet if im throwing the MTRs on the roof on the way up and just swap out when I get there or not yet. So myabe some trails that my ATs can handle, light mud and snow. Thanks for the ideas and help you guys can give. If I can get a good guide there might be some gas and food money in it for ya  No n00b 0 post count people though, need some sort of trust LOL

Uwharri is closed until April. The beach seems a bit far (and not what your looking for). Tellico is a bit of a drive. I cant really think of many places that you can go in NC beyond that.

Those are the trails that I know of. I am almost 98% positive that there are trials around there that I have no clue about. Try on NCKrawlers. Those guys will know what trails are good.

Due to the federal regulations the two area to wheel are currently closed to off-road vehicles, Uwharrie and Tellico. There are several private areas, but I know very little about them. It's an "off season" thing...

new rules went into effect this year. Closed until March 1, I think. Too much destruction and run off...

Sounds tempting, Ill have to ask the lady and see if shes up for a ride up there. Id only be able to ride that saturday, cause Id be driving friday night and have to leave by like 12-1 on sunday to make it back home. I did find a few spots to play around in the mountains, dont know about thow the forest department would feel about it but it was fun. Also steep mountain gravel roads are fun. I went everywhere from asheville to banner elk and back again. Ill keep up posted on the tellico thing. Thanks for all the replys.
