I know I have not had as many problems as most of you have had and I know I should feel lucky, but I still am having to pay for this every month just like all of you and I want a jeep that is shudder-free...if there is such a thing!

Went to dealership to check in and he looked at me and told me it was being a pain in their Azz!!!
Mechanic has been driving it (put 150+miles on it so far) trying to "reproduce the problem". Well, he did get it to shudder at 70 mph and they cleaned the MAP sensor and said the tranny fluid was low and that they thought it was fixed. WELL...back on the road he went to drive it one last time and it bucked even more than before!
SO, back under the hood and on the phone with DC. They told him to check the EGR valve...and what did he find....OIL!!
All in the EGR, the intercooler, and everywhere it is not supposed to be. SO, they are "puzzled"!
I know others have had this problem and I was wondering....does this fix the shudder when this problem is resolved?
I was told that when they get this fixed that it should be ok but I am afraid that it won't be.
He checked for air in the fuel and there is none, so that is not the problem....

with me having 45k on this jeep, I am lucky that the dealer is treating this as if I still had a warranty because I have been in there non-stop since it was brand new complaining of the same problem.
I JUST DON'T WANT THEM TO TELL ME THAT IT IS FIXED AND IT SHUDDER AS I AM LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP LIKE IT DID THE LAST TIME THEY "FIXED IT"

ANY COMMENTS????

Sounds like they are pretty clueless. It is normal though for them to treat a documented, ongoing issue well after warranty. Hang in there. I have 22000 on my '06 with no problems at all.

All the oil in there is most likely"normal" because of the poor design on the CCV(Crank Case Vent) it pulls oil into the intake side of the turbo and blows it throught the whole system. That is why some have vented it elsewhere.

Is it normal for it to be on the outside of the CAC hose? I have it under the black mesh stuff on the outside.

Yes, there are several of us that have experienced what I call "bead sweating" of the outside of the CAC hose. The risk is that as the oil over several 10k miles creates the bead sweat of oil it weakens the CAC hose and you will eventually have a catastrophic failure involving a rip in the hose.

14 DAYS NOW IN SHOP!!
Went by there Friday and they are waiting for a part to "replace" PCV Valve. He said it is something they are trying to see if it will work. This part is very hard to come by, they had to make the status of my jeep as "car down" to get Detroit to look all over for it and they found the only one in Anchorage Alaska. SO it is on its way from Alaska.
They still don't know if this will fix the problems or not.
I am tired of all this "not knowing"!!

Mine has been in for 16 as of today. Last time I called they were waiting for a battery.

The more times I take mine into the shop, I am convinced the shuddering and bucking is more of a fuel system problem than anything else. If mine runs good this next time I get it back, it is going on the block.

I am buying a low mileage XJ to replace it.
