not what I had in mind
I was thinking more along the lines of mounting it up side down not building a cradle
that will only make it weaker with the long drop
I can not see any reason why it could not be that way I would also look at a more centered fairlead
I know why he did it that way as far as the need for access to the free spool knob but with the other models like the
Tabor 9K ,wich is made by warn, it has a small knob on it that you could just stick your hand in and turn it

I know that in the case that you get in some realy deep mud this would be a P.I.T.A. but it would work great for me cause I can not see my self ever getting into that much mud

Jason i agree with you 100%, Mine is going on upside down and iam not too worried about the leaver either because like u said "dont plan on getting into that deep of mud" . i have looked at it preety close and still have to fab uup my mounting plate but i know mine will llok alot better than that sliver kj with the fairlead off to the side and not centered!! :? Winch arrives on thrusday and hopefully get it done on the weekend

Well, no not exactly.... The M8000 is still sitting here begging to be put on! I need to get access to a shop to do this install since iam currently living in a condo that my employer provides for me. i just can't get the proper pace to do it right now. I have called a few companies but the dont do custom fabricating. i will find a solution soon wheather i have to do it in the parking lot( LOL...I put the rusty's strut plates on there and that wasn't too bad ) Now that you are egar to see it i will stop being put off and try to get it done ASAP. I will ensure to post some pics when this is done.

**** Now that i have my OME lift installed and leveled iam worried as to how much the winch will make the fornt end sag? I have the OME medium duty coils 926's? hate to now have to do a clevis lift also!!??? how much did your guys KJ's sag after a winch was installed?

Josh

Even if you do have to do the clevis lift, it'll be simple. As long as you torque the bolt properly, you don't need the spacers in there, just the space. So, you really don't even need to take anything apart. Just loosen, lift, measure and match the gaps, tighten... done. Well, except for an alignment. That's the part that sucks about it all.

As far as I've seen, it fits in 03 bumper as well - it is just a little different bumper trimming. Pics are from a local jeep service who has made a base to fit inside the bumper and I have seen it fit in 02 & 03 KJs as well as Grand Cherokees.

Hi, i'm the owner of this jeep http://www.keylogistics.cl/claudio/jeep/winchinstall.htm and the low hanging is the reason why my winch is not centered, the 2004 liberty has an space in the center, so if you get you winch in that space, it doesn't get too low, but with the Warn M8000 in there, if you center the cable, the motor touch the metal and you have to put it lower, thats why is not centered, the knob cleared was discovered when i put the bumper back

I have used the winch several times to get friends off the jeep path  and worked flawlesly

Claudio

I LOVE the idea guys! Looks awesome!!!

Just a quick question; can't seem to see it in any pics. Where does the "bracket" attatch to the frame? In the same holes the factory tow hooks are?

Also, what kind of trimming is needed to make it? Obviosuly, depends on winch...but do you need to move, cut or reloacte anything under/in the bumper to do this?

Please post replies! I want to do this too! So cool!!

yes, it's attached to the same holes for the tow hooks, i just needed to trim the bumper cover just to leave space for the cable guide.
