Nope. With the EGR failures, ULSD is exactly what should be used in the CRD. My tech claims it is a cure all for the EGR/exhuast issues. I do use PS with every tank for cleaning, and lubrication.
And if you want even more cleaning/lubrication, run a little ATSM-spec biodiesel (but not more than 5-20 percent if your area gets below freezing). I love the way mine drives on B100 in the summer. Purs like a kitten and smells like fried chicken (with better mileage than #2 and nearly as good as ULSD).
MMMMMM. I like fried chicken.

When I left the dealer on day one, he took me down to get a free fill up. It was B20. Later that night after reading the owner's manual, I was surprised that he did that since it said B5 was ok. No mention of B20.
Most reputable resources suggest that the 5% recommended limit is not because of the effects of bio on the engine, but due to the somewhat lacking consistency of bio production in the US today (i.e. not NEARLY as tightly regulated as ULSD, and people still have problems with that...). I can't blame DC for trying to limit repair claims that MIGHT be caused by bad fuel. Some people don't rinse/react/dry their fuel as well as they could and all the side-effects are detrimental to a modern diesel (not as much in older MB diesel sedans and what-not).
If you homebrew, get some tested to be sure, and if you buy it, most places will be willing to share lab results with you. Even the better not-for-profit co-ops do.
I swear I wasn't trying to hijack the thread in a bio-promotion....
