Heck, around here....doing 30mph over the speed limit is the norm....not for me...but for everyone else it seems. I normally do about 5-10mph over and they still pass me like I am standing still.
My mother has a place in Florida...see my recent road trip milage report. Well, down there all the back roads and whatnot are 45, 55, and 60 mph...with passing allowed in most parts. Mind you these are two lane roads...and in one area...there is a 7" drop off where the shoulder should be because of construction...lol. It is fun though...when you think of Florida....you don't think of your prototypical country back roads. They are building up a little down there though. This is the Mandarin, Orangedale, Fruit Cove area of St. Johns county near St. Augustine.
This is off topic, but since the gereral info has been posted.................. I got a ticket once while visiting Calif. I was doing 69 in a 60. I saw a Chip coming up behind me. I was in the far left lane of a 3 lane road. I was right along side another car that was in the middle lane. We were both running about the same speed, but I was edging up a little. I pulled over closer to him to allow room for the Chip to pass me on the left shoulder in his motorcycle. The Chip was not running any lights, just speeding. I failed to see that he was trying to pass in between me and the center car. When I moved over, it just about squashed him. He wasn't in the "groove" yet but almost. He locked em up and darn near flipped the thing. I saw all this in my rear view mirror, and freaked out, almost sideswiping the car next to me. He lit them up and I pulled over. He accused me of trying to kill him. Gave me a ticket for impeading traffic. Even though I was speeding, and passing another car, and he was making an illegal pass, I get a $100 ticket. And then this long speech about us aggresive Colorado drivers. Hell, I was scared crapless all the time I was out there in Calif. Bad Karma. He was probably carrying a load in his pantaloons when he left though. I would have been. I may have been actually.
