Many DC dealer shops offer a deal on flushing your transmission out and filling it with new fluid. This a great service, but it does not include filter changing. The transmission has 2 filters - 1 inside and 1 outside. For another $60-$100 (roughly, depending on connections and mechanic skill) you can make the job a very throrough servicing. This was the only job I wanted the dealer to do for me, being adamant about learning everything myself during my 100k services.

I think it depends on your tranny...

If you have the 45 RFE, then both filters are inside the tranny.

As for the 42RLE, I have no Idea
