I have the Corporate 8.25 rear axle. When changing out the diff fluid how much friction modifier do I need to add? Last time I did it, I accidentally added the whole tube which was 6-8 ounces, don't remember, however Amsoil sells theirs in a 4 ounce bottle. I'm thinking maybe I added too much, or maybe not enough? I haven't experienced any binding, but don't know if I'm dilluting the diff fluid by adding too much. My diffs are coming up on their due date so thanks for any info!

4 ounces works fine in my Trac-Loc.

That is what I just bought from JJ's website. The 4oz modifier.

I think our manual really lacks proper information. No info on how much gear lube or modifier needed for our difs. Missing other fluid amounts also.

Right out of the Haynes manual:
    198RBI(d35) 3.76 pints
    8.25-4.4 pints
limited slip models include 4 oz of friction modifier in above capicities

I was talking about our handy dandy little owners manual that we get when we purchase the beast.

Perhaps, DC wants to omit the info to get people to go to the dealer for the fluid changes.

Thanks everyone who contributed to the answer. That's one reason I enjoy this board so much - everyone is so willing to help out a L.O.S.T. soul (sorry, my bad sense of humor getting the best of me again), haha. Good idea tjkj2002. I never even thought about the Haynes or Chilton manual. Even if I did, I would assume that my '03 was too new for it to be out yet anyway. I usually see those manuals for the older vehicles, but then again, my local Autozone doesn't have a very comprehensive selection either. Thanks for the tip!

The Haynes/Chilton's covers '02-'04 Part# 50035.Very basic on the tranny and transfer case but the other stuff is pretty good.

While it is an Amsoil guide, it does show capacities, and some torque values for whatever vehicle info you want to plug into it.
