what is the best way to go about waterproofing the KJ's electrical system for deep water fording and what are some key areas to focus on? I hit a lot of water and don't need that problem.

Die electric greese on all connectors, pack rear fan motor contacts with it, and do yourself a favor and install a cut off switch for the fan motor when going in deep water. Muddy water will dry and cake up on your armature springs & bushings, you will loose electrical contac, which means your fan motor won't turn and you'll over heat quickly. If this happens, just pull the shroud, disasemble the fan motor and clean with water, then reasemble. I always carry a 2 gal. jug of water just in case it ever happens again.
