A survey or discussion like this should be done before the vehicle is mass produced. The 2007 is out and I agree with most of you here, they should have been proactive and asked all current KJ owners of their thought on what they like and dislike. I’m sure something good will come out of this, but for us who already own a Liberty it really makes no sense. It’s not like they are going to say “give us your 02-06 Liberty we’ll do the changes and especially fix that good for nothing LBJ and give it back to you. They are looking in the near future; but for all of who own a 02-06 and don’t like something we have to put up with it??

I think it is a good idea to go and give your two cents. You never know if you will get what you want unless you ask. The worst that can happen is they don't give us what we want. It will hurt em later when we go buy something else. Unless of course we all just go get Wranglers...

I agree with both sides. But noticing that, according to the Jeep Info Center, this is the engineers doing this on their free time because they enjoy what they are doing. IMO although they are discussing the 07's primarily, comments on future models woud probably be noted (maybe not at the time, but at least then they know).

To bad I will not be in front of a computer that night, I could have some fun with these guys. After the third Camp Jeep, the engineers would cringe when I walked into the tent!!

My very first question to them was..."why do you put lug locks on the spare tire, when you can reach around back and unbolt the entire tire mount?"

I did not torture them too much, asked some questions which I didn't get satisfactory ans. to. especially related to exploding front diffs!

You all will need to carry the torch!

Al

I see a question already I'd like to ask....why did the spare tire get moved off the tailgate and UNDER the rig??

This isn't a hard question to answer.

Back into a pole with a KJ, $3000 in damages or more.
Back into a pole with a KK, $300 in damages or less.

Simple. Of course, lots of criticism from the insurance companies and agencies helps too.

They may not be able to reveil thier future plans because thier not sure if they will even have a future. Whatever else happens at chrysler, I sure hope jeep survives. Someone picking up jeep would be no problem, I know Diamler would like to keep jeep, but it's the only bright spot for unloading chrysler. Anyhow, I wish they would address the weak front diff on the kj and not make the same mistake on the kk. Give us a dohc 4.0 I-6 for the wrangler, then I could like it more. A jeep p/u truck with out a dout, we got to have that since they teased us with the concept. The compass already needs a redesign, it just doesn't look good. I could over look alot of it's short commings if it looked better. Actually, if they just made it look more like the concept, the concept compass was a cool looking little ride, looked sporty and refined, unlike the bulky nosed thing that we actually got.

What they're REALLY asking for is all the soccer moms 2 log on & tell 'em what they want. Don't get me wrong, i love my KJ and it is far from being a soccermobile. But let's face it, Chrysler wants 2 sell vehicles and soccer moms are buying more of these things than off-roaders. IMHO that's exactly why they put the spare underneath. Thant's my 3 cents (inflation).

I guess I'd ask why they think they need 3 Subaru Forrester rip offs in their line-up? They can't out Forrester the Forrester!
