So, my CRD just hit 12.5 k so I did my first self-oil-change (the second for the engine. First was at 6250 by the dealer). It was a lot easier than in any vehicle I've had before Gave it a Mopar filter, new crush washer, and 6.4 quarts of Rotella-T 5w40. So far so good, right? Well, when I first slid under, I noticed a good deal of oil residue all over that side of the engine, back as far as the tranny cooling lines, as far up as the underside of the turbo spooler on the exhaust line and enough that the under side of the IFS subframe was slick from runover. I sprayed some brake parts cleaner on some conspicuous areas and it came right off and I'll keep an eye on them to see if it re-appears.
So, has anyone else seen this and is it indicative of another problem? I've also noticed that in the past few tanks, my average MPG is going down. It went to about 26 after the ORM and I'm now having a hard time putting 21 out of mixed driving. The engine also doesn't seem quite as peppy off the start (or at highway speeds for that matter). May or may not be that I had my F37 done about 1000 miles ago.
Thoughts?

The last bolt (passenger side, closest to firewall) on the cylinder head has been known to leak oil and leak down the side of the engine and then onto the bell housing of the transmission and oil pan. Your doing the right thing with the brake cleaner to keep an eye on the situation.
