Today, I passed by a Shell station that had posted

$2.98 Regular
$3.10 Med grade
$3.22 Premium
and drum roll please
$3.02 diesel

First time in a long time I've seen it so close to Regular around here.

In my area diesel is often a little more expensive than gas, but the price is much less volatile. Slow to go up, slow to come down.

ULSD: $3.03

Regular unleaded (ouch!!) $3.33

Premium unleaded (glad I don't have a performance car) $3.55

These prices were at a local Shell station that trends right in the middle of fuel prices around here.

Just a further report on that from the Northwest -

Here in Renton diesel is $2.99, UL is $3.31.

But the real fun comes if you go south, I just got back yesterday from a trip to Eugene, OR, and around Centralia prices are like this: Diesel: $2.59, UL: $3.44

Eugene itself is about the same as Seattle however.

Citgo station closest to home, in the past week I've seen diesel DROP from 2.89 to 2.83 while RUG has went from 2.82 to 2.90.

What is the deal wih ULSD being more expensive than LSD in some areas?

I think that is a rip-off! I have never seen a price difference between the two around here.

I don't know about the others, but UL meant 'Unleaded' reffering to gasoline, not ULSD in my statement. I wasn't aware that anyone still sold LSD, ULSD became required late last year I believe...

In Northern Va I can buy diesel for $2.81, about 5 cents less than gas.

Added to that , for the last 4 tanks I have averged 27 mpg (50% highway and 50% city) thanks to the ORM.

Towed my boat 30 miles today for maintenance.

Things are looking up. I have a vechicle that gets great mileage, can tow a boat, and I pay less for a gallon of diesel.
Another NoVA guy......how you doin?

There's still LSD out there and it can be sold for at least a couple of more years.

At any rate, RUG is starting to edge up higher than ULSD, but it varies by station. Right now where I go, ULSD is $2.949 RUG is $2.899. Another place is ULSD $2.899 RUG $2.959; another is ULSD $2.999 RUG $2.839, and another is ULSD $2.999 RUG $2.999.

I am doing fine.

I buy my diesel for $2.81 on a Hess station right off of the beltway on Telegraph road. Not bad for the DC area.

Just towed my boat again today - very gently - still nervous about the Transmission, especially with the extra power from the ORM.

Wish we had a truck station near by.

B10 here is still $2.59 but RUG has jumped up to $2.99 I know that diesel is usually cheaper in the warmer months but $0.40 this early on the year seems a bit much. $3 a gallon before Memorial Day makes it seem like we are all in deep s#*t this summer driving season.  :x   :x

Last two fill ups were:

RUG: $3.04
ULSD: $2.77

I don't think there's anything to be happy about... except the bicycle is getting more use.
