What about Cascade Creek: http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=126

It's up in the area we should be most interested in exploring, and it is connected to a bunch of other trails, like Ted's favorite, Spring Creek.

Can I do that if my AllJ SuperSkid doesn't come in by then? I got my sliders from Marty today, and I have a Mopar engine skid, but the tranny, t-fer case, etc. are all unprotected. I'd love to go and finally meet you guys.....

None of us that I know of have done this particular trail before, but it is only rated a 2 out of 10, but it's really tough to say until we get there. We try to find a simple trail that stockers and those that do not have all there armor yet can still join us on the trail. So far, the ratings have been pretty accurate on traildamage.com, so I would say you will probably be ok.

have you guys had a chance to see the T-33 plane crash site? this would be a great run to do later this summer i think!
http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=174 looks like you can make it as hard or as easy as you want!

I think Cascade Creek was one of the first trails I ever did (and is probably the first ever LOST trail run in Colorado!). I had the stock skid plates and a Skyjacker lift at that time...the tranny was totally exposed and I had no issues. There was a stock KJ with us...on the way down there was a bouncy section of switch backs where some loose rocks made some noises, but nothing that would cause damage. Pretty tame with some great scenery and even some abandoned mining equipment/buildings.

That sounds good, I will see if I can get it loaded on my GPS by the traildamage info, if not I will try to learn how to use it enough to make the trail.

When and where we going to meet?

Say, 9-9:30 in Idaho Springs. Probably that gas station with the McDonalds in it, whatever that first Idaho Springs exit is.

Here's a pic of the switch backs...they seem to go on for an eternity just when you are ready to be done for the day.

Cascade Creek sounds good to me, I'll see you guys in Idaho Springs unless the trail decision changes.

It takes 1.5 hours to Idaho Springs, so meet between 0700 and 0730, leave by 0730. My place is furthest North, but Teds is closer to Academy, so as long as it's cool with Ted, we could meet at his place that way it's a straight shot up Academy to 25, but we'll wait to here confirmation on meeting there direct from Ted.

That should work, but I may be at a Scout Camp out Friday night (depending on the lightning and such) so I may not be home.

How about meeting at the Diamond Shamrock off of Baptist road 07 leave by 0730?

If I remember correctly, there are three exits to Idaho Springs. Take the first exit after the tunnel. You should see a McDonalds sign on the north side of I70. The McDonalds is connected to a gas station. If you pass the big red Mine building on the north side of I70, you went too far.
