I was thinking about replacing my taillamps with smoked or clear lenses. I found both smoked and clear sets of Altezzas on eBay, but they were specified for 02-04 models. Anyone know if those will fit an 05? Does Altezza make a good product? I'm not necessarily set on having top-of-the-line lenses, but obviously I want something reputable. Just wondering if anyone had those, or a different product they can vouch for.

Also, just looking for some opinions ... what would look better on a light khaki KJ ... smoked or clear? Black would look awful, but I'm having a hard time deciding between the other two options.

Nobody (yet) makes a clear or smoked turn signal for the 2005 KJ. You might be able to get the rear turn signals made for an 02-04 to work, but the fronts won't work. I don't imagine anyone will make one that will work, since the 05-07 line changes in 08.

I have seen a carbon fiber type 3m tape that's been offered on eBay that I have thought of using for my front turn signals...I don't know...still thinking about it.

Here is an example of the lamps I was looking at for the rear: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/02-03-04 ... enameZWDVW

They look like they'd fit just fine, but I wasn't sure if there are subtle differences that would cause a problem. I'd hate to spend the $$$ and end up with lamps I can't do anything with.

I went through 2 sets of the Altezza's in less than a year. They were very cheaply made. Condensation would build up inside them, and the power connections corroded very badly. Bulbs blew very quickly in them too. Have the originals back on it now.

Ouch. Thanks for that input. I had guessed from the prices that they aren't exactly bulletproof. Wish I could find some nice ones, as like I said, I'd love to give my KJ a little bit of a unique look. I love the look of brushguards, but I feel like a real goofball putting brushguards on my car when I only drive it to work and back, with an occasional sidetrip to Starbucks.

I thought about getting a 3rd set, putting good bulbs in them, and applying some creative preventative work to them since they're really cheap. They did look pretty good. Definately looked unique from the rear, especially with the dual outlet exhaust.

Please do not put euros on your Jeep. Every ford ranger and civic have them, they leak and are ugly. Very 2002, IMO.

I had a set of carbon like ones and they worked great...no condensation problems...got lucky I guess. They were the rear replacement ones on my 2002 KJ. I only replaced them because the stock ones were too expensive (after an accident)
