Currently, I have a Daystar 1.5/2.0 lift with a front clevis lift. Now, after loading all my recovery gear I did notice that the rear end started to dip a little. This is without any camping gear. If I were to put 2 weeks of supplies in there it would be like a boat probably.

I am happy with a 2 inch lift, but I want to keep it at 2 inches especially after all the gear is loaded. I know that the factory Renegade springs are quite soft. What would be the best most heavy duty set of rear springs I could get? I need the vehicule to maintain a minimum of 2 inch lift with 800 - 1000 lbs worth of gear( that's including me).

go try some 948 Old man emu heavy duty coils! they will eep the rear end up and for a reasonalble price. Heck go ahead and get the full OME suspension while your at it :D you wont be dissapointed and it will kep you in around 2 inches of lift. But the OME rear coils should fix your sagging problem.

Try adding an upper spring isolator to the rear spring , cheap easy way to boost it a little.

Either Air Bags like I have or OME HD springs which I also have.. Haha, guess I wont be having a problem with the rear sagging. 8)

Ask your self
How often will it realy be that heavy?
Do I want a jeep that rides like a farm implament?
I know that some guys run the OME HD springs and love them I run te OME med springs and think that they could be a little softer
I would just live with the sag if it is only every now and then besides sag will only hurt on the trail and who wants to ride with all that junk in ther rig?
I only carry what I NEED

I realy doubt that you are carring 800+ # of gear
1000# in the rear of a 1/2 ton truck (F150) makes it sag big time and they have leaves and are made to carry a heavier load than most suv's
The KJ would be closer to a ford Ranger in size and I put a 500# test weight in mine pre and post add a leaf and talk about sag
with the leaf it was way better then when I took all the tools out it rode like dog poop but I was selling it so I could care less

The MAX weight you should have in the Jeep is 750.. thats all its rated for and thats with passengers.

Ive never had over 300lbs in mine Im sure and it didnt sag any with the air bags..

My OME HD springs do ride alittle stiff, but thats how I like it. The good thing about the air bags is you can let the air out when you do no have a load and it rides like it would if they were not there.. :)

Ive ridden in a stock YJ a few times back in High School and it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. Of course it beat the crap outta ya on bumps and bridges. Offroad it would hurt though.. It felt great to get back onto blacktop after being offroad in that thing!

It felt like I was getting into a cadillac when I got into my kj after riding in it!

Payload capacity of a Liberty is 1160 lbs. This includes the driver.

http://www.jeep.ca/en/common/pdf/specs_liberty.pdf

As for the junk. I'm going on the road for approximately 2 weeks. That includes a least 5-6 days of trails. So, fuel + 1 jerry can, roof rack, 2 spares (might take only one), fridge, air compressor, all the recovery gear (chains / straps, Hi-Lift), tools, navigational equipement, maybe a winch, camping gear, food and water and a few spare parts.

As it stands, the fuel, me and the recovery gear is about 500 lbs already. You have to remember that weight is concentrated in the back but some of it is distributed throughout the vehicule. Yes, I use this vehicule as a daily driver, and most of the recovery equipement stays in permanently. I wouldn't mind if the ride was a little stiff when light, I mean I could use some extra strong polident....lol.

It also amazes me how many individuals carry so few things on the trail. Sure, if it's close I guess it's ok but we'll be doing in excess of 6000km(round trip), so I need all this 'junk' onboard.

It may be that my wheelin style is just not like the rest of the world but the way we roll is like this
Get to the trail where ever it may be and by what ever method you choose
set up camp and unload what you dont need for the day
things like tent ,food, cloths and any other junk not needed on the trail for that day
Then set up camp and go wheel
Most times we have 2 or 3 guys that will stay behind and cook for that night but we all ride out as a group we end up on different trails but we all go back to camp to eat and share war stories for the day and repeat the next day

That being said I carry what could be considered to much stuff in my TJ
I carry spare parts to get me back to camp and tools to fix what ever may break out on the trail
I have weighed every thing in the jeep ,less the 6" sub, and it is like 120# including 50# of tank and CO2

Sure you can carry 1100# in a KJ but why on earth would you want to push your rig to the max 100% of the time out on a trail
I look at it like this
The less weight I have the less work the jeep has to do to get through what ever it needs to get through
or more weight = more work
Think of it in terms of people I know that I stand no chance in a bike race against Labce Armstrong unless he has to carry 200# of extra weight and I get to ride nude :D

You're right. Believe me weight is a huge hinderence...lol.. There's the constant dilema of what to take and what to leave behind. Wow, those poor people you leave behind, they must hate you after. I mean you're out on the trail havin fun all day, come back to camp and all this great food is ready. Where do I find these people?....just kidding.

Another aspect people seem to forget that if you carry passengers, their weight has to be added to the payload. So right there, 2 guys is a minimum of 400 lbs (avg).

What rear shocks are you all running? They can make more of a difference in ride quality than the springs sometimes.
