I installed an EVIC in my liberty a few months ago. Anyway just got my mt/r's mounted and installed the tpms sensors in the 4 wheels. Well aparenty mine is a 5 tires system and wont let me train only the 4 sensors. The training is aborted since there is no 5th sensor. Do i need another sensor for the spare or is it possible to turn the spare off. Basically can i change my 5 tire evic to a 4 tire evic? Or is there any other way around this?

thanks

Need a 5th sensor..

Where did you find the sensors that you currently have?

darn i thought so. :x

i bought them from directmoparparts.com they were like $40 each. I'll wait till i find another mt/r to mount up as a spare tire and then get the sensor. No sense of doing it twice.

I thought about getting some awhile back but gosh that was alot for just sensors. Ive got a second set of rims and i dont even know if they would work since they are cragars.. I would only need 4 since I already have the sensor in the spare from the factory..

Yeah they are pricey but i think it's a cool feature. I'm anal when it comes to stuff like that. I already bought $160 worth of sensors which is a waste unless i buy another one. It wont let me train only the 4 sensors, it automatically aborts since there is no 5th sensor to train.

Before you spend 40-bucks on a new sensor, I heard a rumor that you can have the dealership disable/enable the spare tire feature. On my EVIC that I put in my '04 Sport, I had to have the dealership enable the spare tire feature before it would read properly. You may want to ask before buying a new sensor.
