Went to see the folks this weekend in Carefree. Haven't been up to the lakes since the fire. Everything was closed. Even the road to 7 Springs. Has anyone heard if this a permanent thing, or just until the desert grows back.
And by the way, someone drained Horseshoe while I was gone.

Due to the fires, erosion, and season rain, the forest service will most likely keep the area closed for 6 months to a year until it comes back enough.

Also, over by Sunflower, Reno Pass and area is in the same problem and closed for a year.

They have been closed since about may or april because of the fires. Seven Springs(FR24), FR42,FR532, Reno Pass, The backside of HorseShoe and Upper Bartlett are all closed. I was told by the Cave Creek rangers office that they will stay that way maybe a year or so so the plant life can regrow and rehabilitate before people start driving on them and making there own roads. Sunflower Mine Loop is open however.
