It's KJ balls. lol

actually its called the harmonic balancer i believe. It's supposed to be some sort of dampener for driveline vibrations. It isn't a roller though, so dont worry about it being frozen. Mine looks just like that rust color too plus some rock rash.

later,
mike

LOL! Here we go again......
I removed them from my KJ's so now they can't reproduce. Spay & Neuter your Jeeps to help control the Jeep population.

I bent the crap out of them on my blue KJ so I got rid of them. I decided to just remove from our khaki KJ so they wouldn't get beat up. I have not noticed any difference in vibrations.

So it doesn't hurt to take the KJ's balls off by force? That's good to know.

mine were all rusty too, so i sprayed them with some WD-40 then gave them a rub with some fine grit sand paper....

the KJ has never been happier

I though, feel a bit ashamed 8)

Spray them after you get the rust off and the WD-40 will prevent further rust. Spray them about once a month or after heavy rain/water fording.
