Question, will the WIF light come on by not having it connected at the bottom of the filter?

It's been disconnected for about 2 months now without a problem or warning light.

Just received my cat package from Greg. Question, is the filter adapter already screwed into the filter? Because if its not I don't see it.

no small metal tube (threaded on both ends with different diameter threads) in the bag with the instructions? that's where mine was.

Popped her on today, no real problems. Make sure you have all the tools required before you start the job, lol. Works great and no starting problems. I also installed the new bleeder valve, works like a charm.

I was about ready to get rid of the CRD last Nov/Dec time frame, now with the Cat filter, greg's bleeder valve, the ORM and EHM I am of the opinion the CRD is a keeper. :D

And you may be even more convinced to keep your CRD when you read what Nick Cappa, manager of Chrylser's Advanced Technology Communication told Diesel Power editors, when they suggested that Chrysler had a tremendous market for the diesel Liberty CRD.

About the diesel Liberty CRD and why they were not planning on bringing it back to North America -
"We sold much more than we expected. The Liberty diesel was a success almost to a fault, but phasing it out(in favor of the higher priced GC diesel with the MB V6) was part of the long term strategy. Bringing back a diesel Liberty to North America is not in our long term plan, but it's not impossible."

How great it is that our 2.8L diesel is one of the most rebuildable diesel engines in the world, with advanced features like wet sleeves, normally only found in much more expensive larger diesel engines. With replaceable wet sleeves, you can buy a set of pistons, rings, rods and engine liners, replace the valves and run another 300K miles. As long as you keep the soot out, change the oil and keep normal maintenance on schedule, you could run this engine indefinitely, until the body is gone. Then you could swap the engine/powertrain into an older CJ or by then, an old JK and have a great rig with immediate resale value, or even better, drive it off-road.

Greed, not incompetence was the killer of the Liberty CRD. DCX thought they had a cash cow in the Diesel that could be milked by putting it in a high profit/high cost vehicle only. Why only make a few thousand on a liberty when you can make many thousands on a GC?

Has anyone tried to order a CAT2 filter off that site recently? I've made several attempts over the past few weeks and I keep getting the same error message. I've emailed and called the business but with no reply, I'd like to get one of these filter systems on my CRD before I make a 2000+ mile trip later this month...

Hey Greg I just got the Fumoto valve and extender on the 91 MB today, should be a lot easier to change next time.

Site uses Active X. You must use a Windows machine with Active X enabled for it to work. Found that out the hard way. There are a few things I could say about web developers that use broken technologies like Active X for client side web development, but none are fit to say on this forum.

Nothing. Good help (computer or otherwise) is too hard to find nowadays and that ain't his fault. I am happy to do whatever I have to just to get good parts for this thing.

I would still like to help fix the LOST site search, however.

So just out of curiosity does the fuel heater / fire hazard exist with this setup?

The only thing that changes with this is the filter. Everything else stays as is.

well... the water-in-fuel sensor gets the axe as well. Most that have had it tested have said that the CAT filter without the sensor does a better job of preventing water infiltration than the mopar one with the sensor. Kinda like having a fire alarm ins a house made of dried balsa wood....
