What would it take to make this a completly plug and play mod?

Just some plugs? Which ones, and could we make our own?

There would be a lot more takers if you didnt have to cut any wires.

Hey Dgeist, you miscounted the wires. If you look at the interface wiring diagram, there are only 9 wires. 3 are cut (MAF, AFC, EGR) so that = 6 wires. The rest of the wires are really taps. So next add in power and ground, that =8, then add the transmission logic for park, that makes a total of 9.

I chose to mount the box on the passenger side just because that spot has two convenient bolts to mount this. You can really mount it anywhere, but that looked good to me.

You can also rig in an emergency switch, but you would need a 3PDT switch, and they’re kinda pricy. Just get another connector half, and put in the 3 jumper wires. Then its just unplug the box, and plug in the jumper plug. Done. Ready for inspection. If anyone asks (and I don't see why anyone would), its just some sort of test plug.

As far as blocking off the EGR, I don't think its necessary. First, nothing is flowing, so nothing is getting gunked up. Second, if and when you do have to get inspected, just plug in the jumper plug and everything is back to stock.
Remember, for the ORM circuit to work, you will have to have all three sensors plugged back in. Of course the MAF signal has to be there for the circuit to work with. The AFC gets put in, only in Park, and the EGR just sits.

I looked into getting junkyard computers, tearing them up to get the connectors, etc. to make this plug and play, and your looking at over $800.00 just in connectors. Just splice the factory wiring, its much cheaper.....

This is way too complicated for my idiot brain. I may just install an inline switch for the egr valve, and unplug the MAF. If I need to go for warranty work I can switch the egr on, plug the MAF back in and clear the codes. I can live with the CEL, or an I missing something here?

I can live with the codes also but I would like this little device if its easy to plug in. The scanguage works well for codes.

Ok, I got my project box completed, made a mounting bracket, and got it installed. Cleared all the CEL codes, and now about 10 miles later, 4 or 5 start and stop cycles, no CEL light! YEEE Hawww. I'm a happy camper! Remember this is only for them Off Road adventures only.
See the latest pics on the web site: http://picasaweb.google.com/Turbo4tim/Ckt

Now someone just has to get them boards or kits made up.
By the way, all those electronic parts are available at either Digi-Key http://www.digikey.com/ or at Mouser http://www.mouser.com/index.cfm?handler=home

Anyone else get theirs built yet?.....

 still pulling night shifts and sleeping away prime circuit board building time. will be back to "normal" next week and plan on getting the parts list to my friendly Norvac store. this IS taking off, turbo, if you get to the southern half of western Oregon I'd be proud and honored to fix you a drink or make you a steak. or both if you are the type to have such things.

anyone else building their own? building more than their own?

will this mod disable the traction control feature that limits engine power? I though the ESP closed the AFC valve to limit power when the car was sliding on ice.

Tim, if you're going to do this, do you need to install a provent valve as well to protect the bypassed components from soot build-up?
