I just routed it under some wiring and pointed in down towards the ground, much like my EHM.

I'm going to have to hang something on the tube to get it to straighten out. Its got a bit of a curl to it.

Could we move this to the tech section so we can find it? Or summarize it and move. and the auto bleeder mod page. Could also use a lift pump howto, original cat filter conversion howto, SEGR howto, etc. Some of this stuff we already have, but you have to dig around weras in the tech section they will be right there.

Just got my kit (along with a new fumoto set). I was wondering if anyone has put together a rudimentary instruction sheet for the valve, perhaps with torque settings? It's pretty obvious, but I'd hate to snap something off and damage the head because I was hasty.

Any pics from before the install? What I really want to know is how the adapter seals to the filter head. It looks to me like there is a copper washer between the adapter and the filter head.
The washer has a rubber seal built into it, so it's a positive flat seal that doesn't require much tightening to seat. I just installed mine last weekend; it took about 10 minutes, but I had a hard time getting the tube to point straight down. I tightened it as much as I dared and got within 45 degrees of vertical. Good enough, I wrapped the hose around the filter head. It sure is easy to bleed that filter now.

So the rubberized washer goes between the adapter and the head. what about between the adapter and the valve? Teflon tape? Also, is the small barrel ferrule supposed to go inside the tubing so the compression fit connector doesn't crush it?

Correct about the rubberized washer. Adapter to valve is a pipe thread, and teflon tape is provided. Yes, there is a brass tube insert that gets clamped by the brass ferrule to prevent the tube from gettng crushed.
