Does anyone know anything about this, other than what's in the FAQs on Al's site?

Kits ready for market July 2007. Any info?

You only want to lift 3" max without dropping the cradle or adjusting additional suspension geometry/parts.

Al's been working on this over the last couple of years. I haven't checked his site, but that was the first time I saw the July 07 date- that's exciting!

Just imagine the tire choices with 6" of lift. I can barely sit still.

The front Dana30A won't live with anything over 33" tire and your pushing it with a 33" tire.

Yeah, I realize that much. But its better than 31! I've had a set of 33x12.50 x 15 tires sitting here since I bought the Libby, just waiting for the chance to squeeze them around the brake rotors.

I think it would cost close to the same amount to do a SFA swap as it would to try and replecate Al's 6" lift. And you would change out the front diff with a better one in that case as well. Then 33's would fit nicely and you wouldn't have to worry about cv angles or any of the other goofy stuff everybody else including myself has to worry about.

Im looking to buy an 02 or 03 when the new Liberty comes out and prices drop. It will be a base base sport and the first thing it gets is an SFA converison.

Mines a daily driver and I'm doing the SFA(as $$$ permites, getting parts as we speak),and it still will be a daily driver,no use doing something and not using it.

That's cool. I should of said i'd love to do that to mine if time and money allowed it. I have neither. :?

Hell i barely have enought time to go wheelin now let alone the need for a sfa.

Sometimes you don't need much money. I was at the Wind River 4X4 Association's 3rd Annual Father's Day weekend Show and runs. Met up with an old high school buddy who is planning on taking the Dana30's off of his XJ and replacing them with Dana44s. He said I can have the 30's when they come off. They'll need rebuilt by the time he takes them off but, that should cost significantly less than buying them. Won't be for at least a year I'm sure but it looks like I have an SFA swap in my future, now.

I got a reply from Al's (or whoever it actually is now) about this kit.

Quote:
"We are doing more testing this week. We have some adjustments we need to do. I am looking to have it ready in mid July. When we have the bugs out we will have a cost at that time.

I will keep you posted as we get closer.

Thanks

Marlin Gehman"

So it looks like the whole thing isn't dead at all...

I didn't want to say anything, but Marlin spilled the beans himself in that email. I have been talking with him when I have been purchasing some arms, and the lift is not dead, and it sounds like everything is coming together very well and quite quickly. So, the info on the website is not outdated from before Al sold it. The kit is real. I don't have much more info that that, except when I talked to him he planned on it being a completely bolt on kit.
