changing setting
I just joined in a few days ago and finally found a new home that doesn't look at the KJ as the @$#% step child but the stylish Jeep on the road. I saw an article in the forum about changing setting with the Key fob remote and now can't find it again. :?:
Pimarily making key fob unlock Drivers door ony on 1 click and all doors on 2 clicks

1: press and hold "unlock"
2: while holding "unlock" wait at least 4 seconds but no more than 10 seconds, then press the "Lock" button
3: release both buttons

repeat these steps to return it to the other setting.

That's cool! Can you make it stop that loud beep when you lock the doors? That beep is so obnoxious we use the manual door locks most of the time.

You CAN do it with an EVIC in an '02. I have an EVIC from an '02 Concorde in my '02 Liberty. I can change the settings to turn on/off the horn beep and control driver's/all on first unlock.

Not sure about the 07's but on my 03 you can make it not honk when you lock the doors. That's with just the key fob, no EVIC. Since you're a 7 you should still have the manual. Give it a good look though, that's where the directions are.

Personally, the honk definitely helps me know I locked the doors. Sometimes I forget to immediately locked them and when from a distance I hit the fob and after hearing the honk, I know they locked. W/O the honk, I would not know if they locked and would have to walk back to check.

your lights still flash..just look at them. I frequently pull into campsites at late hours and locking the doors would be a huge annoyance..

Thanks for the welcome I just can't get enough of this site and finding so many people who love the Liberty as mush as I do.
Bu the way I did finallyt find what I was looking for plus for those of you who want to turn your horns of lend me your ears. Here is what I've learned in just one week of coming mto this Site:
Many of these options are available to program with an EVIC, but if your Libby is nit equiped with ino, you can still make some changes to suite your needs the features below are available to anyone who has a keyless entry system regardless of whether it is equipped with Sentry key/Alarm.

#1 AUTOMATIC (ROLLING) LOCKS
This is the "Lock when the vehicle is going 15 mph" feature. This feature can also be disabled through the EVIC.
The rolling locks feature can be toggled ON/OFF by using DRB IIIt only.

{THE ONE SOME HAVE BEEN ASKING ABOUT}
#2 HORN CHIRP DISABLING / ENABLING
"This controls if you want your Libby to beep the horn when locking via the keyless entry. *Reports indicate that this does not work for 05 models.
To DISABLE (cancel) the horn chirp feature, Press and hold the transmittter LOCK button for four to ten seconds.
While pressing the Lock button in press the UNLOCK button.
Release both buttons.
To ENABLE (restore) the horn chirp feature, repateat the above procedure.
#3 OPTICLE CHIRP (FLASH) DISABLING / ENABLING
This controls if you want your Libby to flash the hazard lights when locking/unlocking via the keyless entry.
To DISABLE (cancel) the optical chirp feature, Press and hold the transmitter LOCK button for four to ten seconds.
While pressing the LOCK button in, Press the TAILGATE RELEASE button. Release both buttons.
To ENABLE (restore) the optical chirp feature, repeat the above procedure.
#4 TAIL GATE RELEASE DELAY
The Liberty can be set to POP the tailgate instantly when you press the button, or require it to be pressd and held for it to open. Press the UNLOCK button for four to ten seconds. While pressing the UNLOCK button, Press the TAIL GATE RELEASE button. Release both buttons. This will toggle between PRESS AND HOLD and PRESS (NO DELAY).

{This is the one I was originally looking for but could not find when I first posted}
#5 UNLOCK SEQUENCE
When unlocking the Liberty, you can choose between unlocking Drivers door first or unlocking All doors simultaneously.
Press and hod the transmitter UNLOCK button for four to ten seconds. While pressing the UNLOCK button in, Press the LOCK button. Release both buttons. This will toggle between Drivers door first and Unlock All doors function.
I found this on one of the other Jeep links, bu5t since you all showed so much interest I thought that after the warm welcome you all have given me I should share what I finially found. Thanks for the help and the support . I've got family coming to town for the next week so it will be a while till I can post pictures of my Blue Liberty but I will as soon as I can. Also If any are interested I am a Life Time AMS/OIL dealer for 20 plus years not in it for the profit just wanted to get a good price on synthetic oil :D . I have it in my Libby from bumper to bumper and would be happy to pass it on to you at my cost. Thanks again and hope to hear from more of you all soon. 8) [/u]

He he. This is cool, I just turned off my horn chirp and light flash. Today, though, it took much longer to find my KJ when I came out of Wal-Mart. :roll:
Guess I could always reactivate the horn when I go shopping... :lol:
