Without looking, aren't our OEM POS Goodyears 225/75/R16's. With a lift, should I go with the 245/75/R16's? It would give me another 2.12" in a Cooper Discoverer ATR or 1.19" if I go with the 70's. The 75's would ride nicer but what about handling?
So many tires, so little time... :?

$83.24 each.

5 tire price $416.20

Lifetime mounting/balancing/rotating $9 each. 5x9 = $45

$501.20 plus tax for 5 tires installed.

Its gonna happen soon.

they don't have the best reviews for the snow traction..

Got off the pot and called the LTS this am at 8:30 on the Coopers. They took me right in and I went with the 245/75R16's! A little tall and a little rubbing on the front. I may have to do some trimming.

Still running them at around 23k miles myself, they show no serious signs of wear. But then keep in mind I don't actually off road, its all streets/highway and in the NW the roads are in very good condition compared to many other areas.

I ran mine to nearly 30K and they could have gone a lot further had I not minded regular tire changing for flats caused by very small rocks. Of course the one that blew out was about 90% new. My fault of course, not the crappy tire.

I put 30,000 on mine before putting on the exact same tires you did. They had plenty of tread left but three flats later I lost all confidence in them. Do you have the just the spacer lift on the front? My right front tire is the only one that rubs and it only does it at max compression with the steering cranked all the way over. It rubs on the front wheel well plastic just barely. Another 10,000 miles on the tires and it shouldn't rub at all.

Nokian makes a bunch of 17 inch tires, I'm running Vatiivas and I like them very much.

It only barely touches it with a full turn to the right (or left, I assume). It touches the front lower air deflector, which I could remove (and perhaprs sacrifice some cooling effect) or just cut away the right and left lower portions (or just leave it alone and let it wear). It's only going to annoy me in a parking lot since I won't be doing a sharp turn at 70mph.
I really like these tires but haven't gotten very far on them. I ran Coopers quite a bit on my VW's and unlike the Bridgestones, I think they are American-made. I just hope jumping up two tire sizes doesn't totally kill my economy and power. I plan to have the transmission/odometer/speedometer recalibrated when I go in to the stealership for the latest recall and state inspection. Although I haven't run a GPS on it yet, all indications are the odometer is way off but that's already been discussed...

I got 31,000 on mine and they still got a long ways to go. I bet will make to 40,000 before it hit the wear bars. These tires had been cross country and back three times so I wouldn't say easy miles.
