Don't remind me. We've had upperr 90's and near 100 for almost 2 weeks here in Ohio. The temps. on my digital thermometer sitting on my toolbox where flashing...106...107...106...in the shop.I don't mind the heat so much as when the dewpoints reach 80 degrees, and the humidity has you drowning in your own sweat.Next week looks just as bad.

We got/had severe weather alert because of the heat. Heat index was 120 degrees.

80* dew point would be great
try 95-100* temp in the shade with 90-100% humidity
then top it off with a short burst of rain just enough to get every thing wet but not enough to cool off
it feels like you are working in a sauna

It looks like most of the country is very hot. Even into Canada. It finally peaked here at 99.9 in the shade.

Only 104 with a dewpoint of 57 here. It only feels like 115 outside. So much for that desert "dry" heat

We had better pull our bicycles out of storage and stop causing global warming.

This one is a dry heat. If it was 40 miles away in Death Valley on this particular July day, it would read 129 F.

It was just nasty here last week. High temps, dew points, and humidity. Just plain nasty.

Man, it's just starting to get nice here in the Valley of the Sun...

Yesterday was 114 deg. F, with a dewpoint in the 60's and humidity in the thirties. The ice even cracked on the Salt River! My Evic got up to 116 as I was driving around.

Note: Even by our Desert Rat standards yesterday was a bit much. Looks like the same for today.

Keep hydrated everyone. Wear a hat, and use sunblock. Then find a cold shady spot and HIDE!

Todd

Not too hot today in Michigan but I feel everyones pain. This summer has shown us no rain but lots of humidity and oppressive sunshine. Maybe soon there will be some let-up when winter rolls around?

Maybe it's just me, but I thought summer, especially August, was supposed to be hot?

This is only my 36th summer, so I may be missing something, but hot & humid has always been my impression of August in the Midwest, East & South while hot & dry in the West.
