Sorry, but I'm going to have to back out of this one. Have a last minute change of plans with our home hunting.

Driving the trail:
Rock Lizard (2 empty seats?)
USAFCOP (1 empty seat)
tjkj2002 (1 empty for sure, maybe and 2nd if my buddy doesn't tag along, need the 3rd for my extra tools, parts, and cooler)
KW AV8R (1 back seat open)

Needs a ride (include # in your party):
DieselEnthusiast (2 seats needed)
KJ4ME (1 Seat)
Dawson (2 seats)

So that leaves us with Four people needing a seat (my number is actually 1, not 2) and only Three seats available for sure. Marty, what's the deal, you going to have an extra?

Yesterday’s trail run was very eventful with unexpected washouts and lots of obstacles. The KJ once again went above and beyond my expectations. It was good meeting Ted and Pete and see them working their KJ‘s since this might be the last time we see you guys before deployment. Overall it was a good learning event for everyone! I’m making a check list of things to bring before making my next trail run. So far this is what I have added.
1. Bring extra water
2. Bring extra food
3. Sun screen

Awesome trip yesterday. Definately a big change to the trail from last time. Those of you that took off instead of eating at the Mexican place...
we should have followed you home. Taco Bell was like On the Border compared to the food quality. Way too much money for the worst tasting Mexican I have ever had (although it looked and smelled good). Oh well, definately not eating there again. Hope everyone had a good time, and can't wait to see some pictures.

Forgot to mention...

If you want a CD of all the pictures/videos Darryl and I took, PM me your address and I will get them out ASAP, no charge. I personally shot 290 pictures/videos and I think Darryl had over 300.

I have to wonder why the trail was switched even though it was going to be crowded. While we have nothing to prove to any of those "other" people, it would have been good to show "them" how well the KJ does on trails. Possibly finding and adding new members to LOST Rockies-Colorado. An opportunity missed.

Wish I could have gone.

As for things to take on the trails (some are repeat from above).

Bug spray - West Nile virus is out there....and bug bites are annoying
Rain gear
Extra clothes/shoes
Big cooler with lots of ice and bottled water (if there are more than one of you)
Munchies and spare munchies
Sunscreen
Hat
Sunglasses
Digital camera or a film SLR w/big lens or video camera
Folding chair(s)
Trash bags
All the other trail equipment and fluids

Okay, so Darryl and I took over 700 photos and videos while on the trail. I have all of them in a file that consumes 2.5 GIGS of space! I was shooting in superfine mode which averages a file size twice that of Darryl's fine mode. But enough with the technicals, you guys want your pics. I have taken a few minutes to separated all 700+ photos into four files (one for each Jeep) and the main file with generic photos. Unfortunately, a CD will only hold 700Mb of data, so I will need to burn you a DVD, which I have, if you want one. Again, just PM me your address and I'll get them out ASAP.

Sarah is downloading all the photos. I’ll be sure to post some of the more intensified photos such as the Super Flex Fender Smasher that Marty’s better half demonstrated. Maybe a photo of Troy’s KJ when it was about to roll. Or Ted’s KJ spinning on the rocks while playing teeter totter. Perhaps a nice shot of Pete’s RIG climbing Whales Tale. Hopefully I have some video footage of serious rock rails usage. I can’t tell you how many times I saw Rock Rails being slammed into the side of boulders or KJ’s crashing down on Rock Rails. I can honestly say that a lot of doors were saved that day by Rock Rails. Not to mention skid plates……………………I can’t imagine life on the trail without skid plates. I think every Jeep that day came away with a few bruises.

Those that ran with us Saturday, here is a post from a guy who ran Carnage Canyon which was that other trail off of Chimamans that we were teasing about running. This gives you a pretty good idea what we would have been in for: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=449582

Probably not something we would even want to attempt with SFA swaps, unless you like body damage.

I had a ton of fun on the trail but not sure I want to do it again in the near future even if I was going to be in the States past Sunday. As far as a dvd of the pictures, there is no way you get get those to me before I leave unless you spend more money that I would be comfortable asking to spend. Maybe Ted, Marty, or Troy could burn me a copy of them after I get back.

Pete,

Send me your address! They're ready to go. I'm mailing out Troy and Rhett's today. If I send yours today, you should have it by Thursday; tomorrow/Friday. Really not a problem. Want you to have them to show off to 'those' who don't listen!

So no one is going to post up a single picture? Troy? Rhett? Anyone? I need some new material for my website and to show off on some other boards. Darryl and Bill, anyway I can get a CD to download to my computer? For some reason my computer doesn't like DVD's. Let me know if you need some CD's for burning those to.

well its not that it cant be done marty, its just that its going to take more than one CD since one data cd can only hold 700mb. but i certainly have no problem burning you multiple discs in a series! as for posting pics i never really uploaded 467 pics to photobucket yet since it can only do 20 at a time, lol. ill get 4 pics per jeep up in just a bit.....
