If doing a suspension lift do I need to disassemble the old strut and spring assembly that just came of the jeep? If I do need to disassemble it why?

thanks

If you're getting a Rusty's suspension lift, then yes, you will need to disassemble the stock assembly to use the upper strut plate.

If it's an Frankinlift, no, they come assembled with the strut plate.

You'll also need the two rubber seats for the coils on each side, and the top washer. I was just going to buy new parts, but the top plate is $150 each up here from the stealership, and the rubber pads are $32 each (you need a total of 4). The washers are something like $5 each. That's almost $500 with taxes. The parts were all in good shape when I got mine apart, so I just reused them.

There are threads about how to disassemble them on her somewhere. seams like no big deal. once on jack stands use the floor jack to compress the strut springs assembly un bolt and lower SLOWLY remove parts. re-use what you want to and do the same in reverse.

I got mine done in 20 minutes for $35 at the local Les Schwab (tire store). They reused all the original equipment and put the new spring and strut in.
