Actually ARC Welding it, and I am not the one doing the sparking. I am grinder and cut wheel slave on this one.

ARC seems like it is the most forgiving to learn with, and the equipment is cheaper too, just not real easy to make a preety weld. I don't know any beginning welder that can do it preety anyhow!

MIG is the most forgiving I believe. I actully find stick welding to be harder than TIG welding...but I started on a TIG so that may be why....anyhow once you figure out how to get a mig adjusted you could be welding stuff together the same day.

Looks good.....What have you got planned for the Tailgate?

A simple fold down tailgate with bolts for hinges and a cable type limiting system to let it fold down flat.

Are you running any fenders? Always like Flat tops that way you have somewhere to sit stuff when out somewhere, but the round ones would look good also. Any side marker lights?
It is looking great Thanks for sharing Don!

Visited Tractor Supply last week looking at axles, fenders, boxes for the front etc. What width axle did you go with? Either building one like this or an off road Tear Drop this winter hopefully!

Looks great! I'd recommend some fenders too but you're probably way ahead of that thought

I have some fenders, but They don't quite fit the 33s. Either I am going to modify them, or get some more diamond plate bent to make some custom ones.

I do have side markers - they are some nifty small LEDs. I guess you just can't see them in the pic. http://www.pmlights.com/products.cfm?cI ... 4&pId=2558

I am also thinking about building a lid now too, instead of running a canvas tarp as originally planned. That should be an easy addition.

The axle is the same exact track width and bolt pattern as the Rubicon - I ordered it from this guy: http://abctrailerparts.com/

Decals are coming too!

Lid would be better in the long run I would think, plus you can lock it up so no one can get in unlike canvas. Great prices on the axles, have to check with him on some for me. Keep up the good work!

Now just add the lid with a rooftop tent on top...you are set.

M101 with lid and roof top tent and fender design

I like that idea of the roof top tent put on the trailer.

I am interested to see how that hitch performs....lets see some action shots!
