No that is the gross vehicle weight which includes passengers and cargo. The curb weight is the actual weight of the Jeep with nothing in it.

Add a bunch of armor, rails, a roof basket, a winch, bumpers, tires and wheels, and you will be real close, then add you your gear, tools fluids etc.... and definetly... Mine weighs real close, and I think troys is just under or just over I think.

Yep the last time I had my KJ on the scale it tipped it at just shy of 5400lbs,then I added Rock Lizard's rear bumber, but then I scrapped the Borla exhaust(man I don't remeber it being that heavy),so with my fat butt(190lbs) I am over the max GVWR of my KJ.Oh it tipped the scales at 3950lbs when I bought it,added alot of amor and enough tools to totally disasemble it  .Wonder why I get such bad mpg's   .

Yeah if you're commercially registered.

On a passenger veh i dont think they really care as long as you're not hauling 2 tons of drywall on your roof rails putting you and other drivers at risk.
