After some mild to moderate logging trail driving this past weekend I had the window regulator on my rear drivers side die.

The window was sliding down on its own and the regulator just made a bad grinding noise.

The dealer here in Reno had it fixed in ~2 1/2 hrs on Tues.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Do a search and you will find several that have had the same failure. I had the DS front window regulator crap out at just over 36K miles. Others still holding so far.

I noticed on mine that whenever I drive on a dusty logging road, the windows will
start to stick when moving them up & down. The driver's side windows was actually going on and off
track while going up at one point. I sprayed some WD40 in the track and it worked fine after that.

Now I regulary spary WD40 in the tracks after a really dusty ride.
Not sure if that's a good idea or not, but what the heck.

The dealer already replace my drivers door reg about 1 month ago, the passangers driver side is grunting now. I'll take it in & get it replaced under the extended warranty. It is a pain, but free, Our 02 WJ driver door reg was still working but the cable spooly thing that are/is(ha ha) connected to the window sprang. I had to take the door apart to get the window up. i didn't want to tape plastic to it. Does anyone know if the KJ regs are the cable type?

Thus far my KJ has gone through FOUR new window regs! Of course, I do have almost 7,700 miles on her...My prior KJ had a habbit of eating CD players. In my two years with that rig we went through three CD players. Part of the fun of owning a cool jeep I guess.
