They do not have to honor that warranty if you did it yourself and have no license degree in mechanics, why do you think everyone here is telling him not to tell the dealer he did it himself. There is a reason for that, maybe your dealer still honors the warranty but there are many that wont. We have a family friend that has managed a dealership for 17 years now, and he even told us, its up to the dealer, yes they can still cover it, but they also can refuse too. All they have to say is, that you did something wrong and were the reason the failure occured and you should have taken it to a certified mechanic or to a dealership. It has happend before
Time to find a dealer with a brain then,well at least here in the states they can't do that without proof a aftermarket modification made by you caused the failure.There are the weird one's like I know for a fact that if you put a K&N air filter(or AFE) in a FORD it totally voids the warrenty but that is stated in the warrenty book for Ford that any oiled air filters are a no-no.
Anyways at least I'm ASE certified Master Auto Technician(about that time for recert
