So back to the topic of the LOST trail rated badge...
Is is really just another version of the LOST sticker?
ORRR......
Should it involve some kind of rigorous trail test for the driver + jeep?
Should we make it a rite of passage for a new jeeper to go out on a trail with his regional group and pass some kind of skill test? That would be neat if the LOST trail rated badge followed the same sort of idea as the jeep badge, but actually made the specific vehicle go through the trial rather than just one of that model.
Example Skill Test:
[ ] River crossing 8"+ depth, 3ft+ traversal.
[ ] Hill climb, 15 degree grade or higher, 5 foot+ climb.
[ ] Rocky terrain, 8" or larger rocks or roots
That would actually be kind of neat to do, and give the regional groups something fun to do for the newbies when they go out on their first run. They get to a section of the trail that has one of those and "grade" them on how well they did it. Really, if you can do it at all, you get the trail rated, but it's all in good fun!
If you've ever seen the bumper stickers that say "This Vehicle Climbed Mount Washington", it could be like that, "This Vehicle Passed the LOST trail rating test".
