I'm pretty sure there isn't a spacer lift for the liberty due to the uniframe construction. Someone will jmp in and correct me if I'm wrong

However, you can get a spacer lift that gives you some clearance. There is a Daystar spacer lift you can search for. I've seen a thread around for all the lift kits available and I've seen a write up for a clevis washer lift.

If I find those, I'll post the links

Edit: one is a sticky in the 4x4 sub-forum

From all my reading around here I think the largest most people put on are 31"

2.5" is about the max lift you can get and that is with a full suspension (coils, shocks, etc) upgrade.

Most people with lifts are running 245/75/16 or some variation. A few people have something larger, but they are more heavily modified vehicles with lots of trimmed fender, aftermarket bumpers, etc.

You two are killing me :-)r

The KJ in uniframe...not body on frame. When you ask for a body lift, that usually means you want to lift the body up off the separate frame with spacers...we can't do that on the Liberty. If you are asking about a spacer lift for the suspension then you are in the right frame of mind.

Not trying to be mean about :-)r ... it has just been a long time since that has been asked here :!:

The cheapest good quality lifts tend to be Daystar - check All -J's
http://www.boulderbars.com/kjproducts.htm

I've also heard Rustys has a good spacer lift, don't know the name.

however avoid the On The Top of the strut lifts (2 1/2" spacer that bolts on top of the strut - search for OTT) - that can easily kill your front struts - we do have a couple of folks running them - but you really need to extend the bumpstop - that not mentioned in the kits, they're just advertised as a cheap/budget lift.

The 2 1/2" limit is to avoid killing the CV joints - you can physically combine lifts to get higher - but you'll have reliability issues in the long run.

The largest tire you can fit with 2 1/2" lift is the 265/75/16 - almost 32"
http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=958

and it will take a lot of work - trim - possibly pull out the wheel well liners - flatten the pinch well - wheel spacers or offsets - try reading the tire forum and see what other folks have had to do.

Decide on what you really want to accomplish first - looks? trails? rock climbing? mud? - you might get better results with a 30" or 31" tire.

and don't forget larger tires will affect your gas mileage.

The best advice I ever heard someone with experence give to someone with little to none

"The ONLY way you are going to know any thing about your Jeep is if you lay down on the ground and LOOK AT IT"
This was told to my wife by one of the best trail guides I have ever rode with
and guess what ,she did just that
got down on the ground in the drive way and we looked at the bottom of HER Jeep
while she could not tell you the tranny from the T-case she knows where they are and what they do
and what you need to do to protect them

Ya'll should take this advice
LOOK AT YOUR JEEP

Burton,
The biggest tire that will fit is 32 inches tall and about 10 wide, 265/75X16, even than you have to bend and remove body and fender parts. Than if you don't get the right length bumpstops installed you'll still blow the fender flares off at full stuff. Also you have an aluminum front differential in this rig that will blow if you put to tall a tire on it and take it off road, it also has a very small gear selection available to regear for the taller tires. On road fuel mileage and power will suffer dramatically installing to big a tire also.

Amen Jason, agreed 100% A quick 5 second look under the jeep woulda answered your question bout the BL, BUT I doubt youd know what to look for so in that case, it wouldnt do anything for ya  People need to rely on themselves to work on their jeeps and understand them, I dont trust others to do it for me. The only way yall can get better is to start off with the simple stinky poo and move on up, youd be surprised what you can learn even if you aint had experience with mechanics
